Wraith- NICE HOG! Ape hangers and all!

Today I broke down the 235-75-15 Wrangler tires that were on the Jeep's alloy rims. 2 good- 2 shot. Then I installed some new Sears Guardsman 225-75-15 LT tires I scored the other day. They were a closeout and I had to drive the Bonnewagon deep into Brooklyn to the Bedford Ave Sears Auto center to get them. $40 each out the door. Those went on the alloy rims for summertime. The Wranglers I put on the factory steel rims for winter duty. I did all this with my $34 Harbor Freight tire changer tool. It works pretty good after I bolt it down to the cement patio. One tire was impossible to seal the bead so I resorted to the shade tree brake cleaner explosion method. BOOOOOM!

So an easy exhaust sway turns into a fiasco after I find the exhaust mount bracket broke in two. To remove it you need to remove the clutch cover and then the oil filler neck, both cover one bolt that can't be removed without them in the way. Great. Bracket off, welded, and painted for install tomorrow. Then I can get back to the original project.

Balanced the steel Jeep wheels this morning at a friend's shop. Then I dove into the rear brakes/combination valve ordeal. When I re-assembled the shoes I purposely left out the self-adjusters which never work right anyway. Without them I watch the hand brake and when the travel gets too much I know it's time to manually adjust the brakes. The combination valve went well. Flare nut wrenches a must. After bleeding the whole system I went for a test drive and there is no more locking up of the rear brakes. In fact my daughter says the brakes haven't felt that good in years. Rain tomorrow so I'll balance the new tires and if it lets up enough I'll put them on. While under there I noticed the transmission cooler line is leaking. Endless work!!!

Had a severe oil leak from the Briggs & Stratton v twin on our riding mower. Found out it was the base gasket. Pulled the enfine, flipped it upside down, yanked the base off. Yep, blown out by the starter. Common problem when they get some hours on them. Six hours start to finish and then mowed the lawn. Also found the drain valve was loose and leaking too. Also had a huge mouse nest in it from the winter.
