Got started on the LaCrosse wheel bearings today. I got the drivers side done, it was easy. I got the passenger side off, it gave me a hell of a time though. The bolts holding the hub in were pretty seized and just rounded off, but I eventually got them with a weird-looking socket for stripped bolts and a torch. Now I gotta get new bolts to put it back together. It looks like Dorman makes new ones, part number 917-512.

At least these hubs aren't pressed in, though.

I started hot gluing the passenger floor, fitting a switch panel, and testing seat positions.

Oh yeah, I installed the drive shaft too.

My engine to swap is in the machine shop, and since the El Camino must tote it back and forth, I cannot disable the 3.8 yet. So today it was service the leaking differential day. I drained the oil which smelled rancid, dropped the drive shaft to get to the pinon seal. Of course there are two listed, so I had to get the seal out to compare it. 30 miles to the parts store for a $7 seal. Royal Purple rear end oil and a new gasket and I will be happy to see one less pesky drip. While there I also gravity bled the brakes as they seemed a bit spongy on the recent trip. Next week will be the transmission seals.

Got the LaCrosse wheel bearings all buttoned up today. No more howling on the highway. Its gonna need front brakes sooner than later so I'm gonna order new rotors and pads from RockAuto, I'll probably go with the AC Delco ones.

Ha,ha Thanks. I made those seats just to see if I could, they turned out to be serviceable units so it began. LOL

It just kind of went from there, I plan on making aluminum door panels and headliner too.
