I didn't do much really put gas in the crew went to Depot and got a caulking gun and a crowbar for work picked up a plug for the suburban block heater while I was there. Now I'm waiting for a guy to send me his address so I can pick up a used tailgate for the suburban it's complete and rust free for $50 so I'll just buy the hole dam thing it's cheaper than the individual parts my gate needs and if it's nicer I'll just paint it change the lock and bolt it on. My buddy mark is looking into some used 235/75/15 tires for it supposed to be Goodyear wrangler A/T like new but we'll see. Right now I'm going to have some of my wife's homemade split pea soup because baby it's cold outside!

Still cold but a big rain/snow is coming so I had to get these jobs done. . I hit the weld area with black Rustoleum. I had also spotted some really crusty brake lines where the rear and front passenger side came out under the booster. I cut out the bad stuff and replaced with new. I make inverted flares and join with unions. Not pretty but functional. I actually had to sit on a plank in the engine bay to get at these rusty lines. No other way so it had to be done now.

Helped out on a 62' Galaxie with a little hubcap renovation.

The one mint original on the right, "restored" on the left.

Used Metalcast in blue and red to back the emblem, then fogged in metallic silver behind similar to original, look great on the car.

Also as seen in this pic is the new Garage project dually.

Nice car, hard to find parts for too. Poor mans Lincoln!!

Swapped the other factory rear bag on the Rainier along with an oil change.

Changed the drivers side bag at 180k, finally did the passenger side today.

Oil pressure is getting a bit low on the Gage, 40 at cold idle and falls to 20 at hot idle. Used to be 40 on the Gage at hot idle. Changed the pressure sensor 2k ago and the readings we the same. Not sure what the actual oil pressure is, I'm just going off the idiot gage. I'm just being picky since it used to be higher. Not sure if I should throw a pump in it out run it until it dies. It's an alum 5.3 so I might swap the pump this summer and see if it gains any pressure back. I'm just being picky I know.....

I think it's boost ready though!

LH6 GenIV aluminum 5.3 with AFM? That's what we have in the wife's Envoy. I bought it with brand spankin new GM bags with 63k on the clock. I sh*t an oil pressure sensor and when I replaced it, I discovered there's a little screen that goes under it. I managed to tear it and after that had occasional odd sensor readings. I think metal shavings find their way up there. I eventually replaced the screen and readings have been consistently. I know these motors have issues with the bypass piston sticking in the pump causing low pressure along with all the AFM BS. I keep an eye on it though, as long as you catch this stuff early the motors seem to survive.
