What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2019]

I went and picked up the rebuilt Jeep 4.0 engine today. I used a cherry picker to lift the block out of the Bonnewagon and onto the stand. The head was not that heavy so I just humped it onto a dolly. First I have to bleed the brakes and check for leaks on the lines I replaced. That is an immediate issue because I can't even see the lines once the engine is back in.

Went and got a clock kit today, drilled the hole for it and figured out a way to hang it cause the hanger on the clock mechanism wont be strong enough or allow it to hang straight since the weight is off center. Now it just needs to be painted. I also trimmed the bottom again since it wasn't very circular as seen in the first pic I posted yesterday.

dry wall screws work on everything.....😊

Yeah, that'd ****in blow to drop the pan in one of these with the front diff bullshit in the way. I was able to purge the front diff and replace the hammered *ss outer tie rods in mine today. Reset toe with my Longacre toe plates I bought for the race car. It's an asspain to only be able to set total toe when you're trying to center the steering wheel, but it still beats paying some pimply faced assclown to put you within factory green alignment settings that make no sense.

I managed to convince myself 2 days in a row that the toe was spot on. Thing drove like absolute sh*t so last night I took it for another spin. Up to that point I figured the new rod ends exposed another issue, but everything else was tight up front so I figured I had a camber or caster issue. When it lost speed coasting downhill I figured I had to be looking at the tape measure wrong. Yep. Turns out cars don't like an inch of toe in. I was so absorbed with the fractional measurements I totally ignore the big numbers. So last night I got to fix that ****up. One of the first things I learned when I began wrenching was, if it's doing something wrong after I fixed it that it didn't do before, I probably screwed it up myself. I probably should have focused more on that with this job. Car drives nicely now.

Being a shadetree alignment guy myself, I had to laugh at this. I couldn't tell you how many times it took me to get it right. "all up in da mustard and couldn't ketchup!"

The worst is when you're damn close to getting it perfect, then go spin one side the wrong way and take 3 steps back.

Played plumber again today...... I picked up some unions, redid my work for the 3rd time on the pinhole repair from a while ago. No more drippy, drip, drip!

Also, finally got the hose bib to stop leaking before winter really sets in. It's one of those frost free joints, and I guess, there was some corrosion in the valve seat. I reamed it with an appliance brush and turned the water on without the valve installed to flush it. Seems to be holding, but you have to shut the valve really tight to avoid drips. Looks like I'll be hacking a hole in the bar ceiling to replace it in the spring. Booooo

Waited/wasted all day waiting for Fed Up to deliver a part to get the train set under the tree for the Jr. Mechanic just to see the delivery statis change from on truck/end of the day today to no scheduled delivery date available at this time. I even seen the SOB drive past the house. Merry #$%@!*& Christmas.
