What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2019]

Set tile on my kitchen island. Actually had to do it twice but that seems to be the only way anything happens around here. Painted the closet shelving, installed an oven, installed the water heater, a huge (16x16) rain type shower head, set the pressure tank psi, turned the water on and went through the house checking for leaks. It went well. That's a super stressful part of this project I'm happy is behind me. A few progress pics.

You built it just big enough to fit the block and heads on it, and you have a secret valve in the shower that diverts the parts washer fluid through the shower heads....I knew it!!!!!!

Last evening I installed the "mud flaps" genuine GM Cadillac accessory package on the wife's XT5. Took about an hour after I figured out the unnecessarily complex instructions that came with the kit. Got them and some all-weather floor mats from GMpartswarehouse.com out of New York. I cannot stress enough that I will not and can not EVER recommend these bozos for parts. I know I won't buy from them again. They did have the lowest shipped price for the parts, but not by much. Figured I'd give them a try. But they failed. It took 26 days for them to deliver from when they were ordered.

I did NOTHING today to my almost-acquired 2012 Focus that my late mother-in-law left me in her will, as it will become official next Monday. It has about 3500 miles or so on it now. Took it in to the dealer a few weeks ago for its gas tank vent valve programming recall (sometimes the computer wouldn't sense the valve needed to be open resulting in a caved in gas tank when level got low) and now it's supposedly fixed. I was startled to only get approx. 300 miles on a tank of gas. WTF? This is a 4 cylinder ultra-mileage type of car. THEN I found out the working gas tank capacity was more realistic to be 10 gallons. (12.4 gallons max). About 2 of my gas cans for the lawn mower. So it actually does get good mileage, but since the gas tank is smaller...and same size engine as the riding mower just about. I've done 2 oil changes on it so far with Motorcraft oil and genuine Ford oil filters, and it's had one every year even though I didn't do all the changes. I changed out coolant in 2016 and it got a new Interstate battery a couple years ago. It likely needs new hoses/belts and more fluids changed. Everything else is original to the car.

Maybe I'll auction it off and get $15K or so??? 🙂 Nah...

Does your waterfall showerhead have the LED in it as well? I bought one that set for a couple months while I dealt with plumber issues, now that it is installed the first time using it leaks out of the pivot ball. Was wondering what you thought of yours?

I stated to assemble the Jeep engine. Notice that the oil gallery has a plug at the end. I wonder if drilling a tiny hole (say .030") in it for positive timing chain lubrication would be a good idea? That is SOP on Pontiacs back at the rear gallery plug so that it squirts oil at the distributor gear.

Bought a used leather sectional for the house. Not perfect but for $100 its leather, can't complain.

And all done. I put about 3 good coats of satin clear on it last night and let it dry overnight. Got home tonight and put the hands on set the time and popped a battery in it to check function.

Excavated enough bench space to rebuild a T56. Or so I think.

Gonna run a hole saw through the bench and cookie sheet. I also want to hang a bucket below. Trans comes out Friday, then we'll see what I'm made of.

it's a Jeep engine so I would not try it even if it does make sense....🤔
