That's not a terrible amount of weight. Truth be told, when I was growing up in MI nobody ever thought twice about hooking a trailer up to a 15 year old truck. Of course they also didn't think twice about a lack of functioning trailer lights or trailer brakes. . . You mod that truck at all? Big block? Dirtymax?

Not unless you count "5-oh Boy" bolt-ons: Granatelli cold air, TB spacer, JBA shorties, and a Magnaflow cat-back. It's a 6.0L; never messed with the 'puter.

The tune would have done more than all 5 of those. I tuned my neighbor's 6.0 ex cab short bed 4.10 2500HD 265 tires. Before the tune, he was about dead nuts even with my 98 K1500 ex cab short bed 5.7/4L80/4.10, long tubes/exhaust, 285 tires, tuned 411 computer swap. My shift kit seemed the only thing that gained me any ground. After I reflashed his otherwise BONE STOCK truck, he fvckin *ss raped me. Bad. I've since added a Whipple and marine intake, can't be losing like that. Those trucks have a 60 second delay for the overly rich WOT fueling to come on and are just begging for gobs of timing, especially down low. Blackbear does solid mail order tunes, if you're game for it I highly recommend doing it. The truck won't downshift for a hill or require as much throttle to just putt around. I also monkeyed with his electronic throttle response table. Lots of low hanging fruit in those truck tunes.

I'm at 265k miles; no need to push the envelope. I plowed snow with it for 10 years, replaced every fluid line known to man, and it keeps chugging along.

Dude I put the blower on at 240k. Mileage is not to be feared especially when all fluids are fresh. A lot of people miss that part. I've been pulling a 9,000# enclosed hauler with it since 2014. Don't get me wrong, I add a couple quarts every 5,000 mile oil change, but it's not much worse than when I got it around 155k. I'm at 269k now and had the trailer on just a few days ago. C'mon do the tune. You know you wanna. 😈

I just googled "t-r-a-n-n-y" funnel and didn't like the images.

EDIT: This f*cking site turns t-r-a-n-n-y into transmission. Damn thing is filtering my filthy jokes.
