Sold the 350E to the same Neighour up the block who bought the 9". They both are supposed to end up under a Model A Five Window Coupe that he is doing this winter. Included the metal converter cover and a matching slip yoke that had been gathering dust in a tray on top of the tarpaulin box for the last decade or so. No good to me as it was just the stump of a drive shaft that had been amputated off during a long ago transmission pull. The stump came with the transmission when I bought it and just got set aside as a paper weight. He'll need to make a drive shaft that will accept the 350 and the 9" so he is sort of part way there. That Nine was an anomaly that I had scored from a dude a few miles out of town because he was tearing down a rod in search of a more accurate rendition and that rear end didn't figure in his planning. Don't know as if that build ever did get done.
Anyway, he went away happier than when he first showed up. Turned out to be a case of the bummed outs because he had had a line on a 327 with 3 Deuces and the owner of that mill backed out of the sale. He did land on his feet because he had a basket case 350 handed to him; y'all know the drill, "some assembly required" LMAOOL. Still he is a horse trader of the first order. When I scored my Muncie from him, he gave it up because it wouldn't shift right. Showed him what was left of the shifter forks and Lo, the light of comprehension dawned.
Stuck the proceeds into my "Pay for a Door Skin" Fund. Jr. swears that the skin has made it to Canada; me, I am not so optimistic. This particular saga has gone on for so long now, around two years or more, that I have pretty much lost faith that my part will ever show up.
FYI for anyone bemoaning the cost of a gallon of gas wherever they may be, here, north of the 49th, the local measurement for fuel is by the liter and 4.5 of 'em make a gallon. Price per liter just went to $1.55. Math makes that about $7.00 PER M*th** F****** GALLON!!!!! The latest whine is that there is a shortage of long haul drivers and it is the cost of the cartage that makes our prices higher than the rest of the province. What was that comment by Will Rogers; OH Yeah, "Lies, Damned Lies, and Damned Infernal Lies. (Sorry, Will if I misquoted you.) Someone is making a huge profit at the expense of car owners. Not going political here except to note that the provincial government is not expected to look into the issue because they are in bed with the corporations so no help there.
What it does mostly is to bump my schedule for the work on the S-10. I still have the frame to strip/clean and fresh layers of rust mort and POR 15 to apply but it gets more miles to the gallon than the van so the race is on to get it back on the road. Work tomorrow then out of rotation?? until next Tuesday at the earliest; with our Thanksgiving this weekend.
For the how come? curious about it being a month or more earlier than south of the border, it is so the birdie doesn't freeze more solid than a popsicle on the way from the oven to the table like it might if we had the day in November. (And masks and open windows for participants?? Good Luck with that. Want to see how that works on Christmas Day. (If they don't outlaw it due to restrictions on the number of individuals who can assemble in a residential setting.) As for toys and presents............ (insert classic funeral march or other sombre and soul crushing music here..............) May have to buy the Christmas booze now and stash it JIC.
Enough. Now I am thoroughly depressed and there are still 169 days left until Spring.....................

If that is a tube radio, there is also a multivibrator that provides the AC that makes the transformers work that can prove problematic.
Thats right, so if someone couldn’t find a vibrator for their model of radio, then the best alternative would be a DC to DC converter circuit.
Another long slog MFing brake job. This one was worse. Far worse.
I started around 1300hrs and finished at 2200.
Two stuck caliper slider pins (each taking an hour to free), resulting in torn caliper dust boots and trying to find a rebuild kit locally in a panic (we found it), a parking brake shoe that delaminated (and I epoxied back together) and then finding a pair that had long ago disintegrated (how is this possible it is just six years old? I just put it back together because we couldn't get a combi-kit to go with the new shoes thanks to supply chain issues(the DS looked like it would crumble if I sneezed on it)), learning how annoying 4 pot calipers are to reseat the pistons in (and can cause the master cylinder to overflow when overly adjusted), and dropping a slider pin retainer hitch-pin on the ground in the dark.

You can A: buy a sacrificial winter beater or 2: do what they do back where I come from and ignore/neglect and eventually discard the vehicular.
Or.... Three: Remain in the South. I like my 'car' season to be 12months out of the year w/o worrying about it rotting out. They occasionally put a 'mix' on over-passes/bridges & highways during extreme winter conditions where I am but it's days vs. months of it being on the roadway. I like that option.
Same here, it usually melts the same day or the next day. When it sticks is when you get that rot. The south is HOT. The correct answer is more than one property.
