Put the replacement AC belt on the TBSS... and then stripped off the front window tint. I almost cried when I was done because it looks so horrible. It's going to blow doing this to the Colorado too.

We had Natasha's replaced under warranty on her Colorado. You have to use a torque wrench to avoid that... especially at 140ft/lbs.

Now you make me wonder if my wrap around insurance might cover it?

Will have to look into that.

I have the notorious 75mph shimmy that I've neglected. Not many highways I see that speed.

Changed the rims and tires over to winter rims and tires on the '15 Silverado.

Got new lug nuts cause I can't stand those capped pieces of sh*t that were put on from factory.

Might see about taking the cap off and see if there is anything salvageable left. They are junk to me otherwise. Can't hurt to fvck with them.

Newer GM's have these too?

I thought it was just Ford's and Dodge.

They suck. Just went through this on my wife's car.

Yesterday my Silverado decided it wanted to sound like a NASCAR and dropped the muffler in the driveway. So I bought the muffler, clamps etc. to due the job. Got all of the old bit cut off and the new one ready to go on. Then it started to rain an got dark. Looks like tonight or tomorrow I will be putting the muffler on.

Had to go to 4 different parts stores to get the muffler, 3 2 3/4in clamps and an adapter to fit the space between the muffler and the tail pipe. All said they have had issues keeping items in stock and they are not being restocked as quickly as they used to.

aligned the truck with a tape measure. only thing to adjust is one adjusting sleeve, and i didnt have any straightedges to clamp to so i just used the lugs on the tire. ended up being 61 5/8 on the front and 61 3/4 on the back, if my 8th grade education (when i stopped paying attention in class) checks out, thats about 1/8 inch, which is factory spec. 😀 also did the thing where you put wood on the rocker and push the top of the door (windows down) and even with 45 year old mashed seals the wind noise is nearly gone. also tightened up the adjustment on the steering box. even with this ****ed tire for the first time the truck doesnt immediately dart right as soon as you let go of the wheel.

With rain in the forecast for Saturday we had zero motivation to work outside so that means I have to quit putting off installing the 8.8 axle in with a kit setup for the original Camaro 10 bolt. After a run down to Summit Racing for a set of 3.25" u-bolts and some handy die grinder work the RideTech brackets go on the Ford rear end, then we mounted up the coil overs to get it on its own suspension. Still have to square the axle up, set pinion and weld on the mounts for the upper 4 link arms but now it can be rolled around again to get back to the rest of the work.

Then we pulled the front fenders that were loosely bolted on and installed the inner fenders and lower fender corners, what a b*tch. Aftermarket inner fenders came with the car and we never messed with them, they each had a couple holes that were off but the biggest pain was the way the fender extensions bolt together, the stamping could have been 3/4" deeper/longer as they had to be sucked down with longer bolts. We also installed the billet hinges and wanted to finish with the hood but the hardware was misplaced so we'll have to locate or buy some tomorrow.
