I sold one tonight.

I sold it to my buddy from work. It blew a front brake line as he was pulling out of the garage. He ended up borrowing my car trailer too. He is going to continue building it with his teenage son. I sold it too cheap, but he can't come back on me that way and it going to a good home.

Things were a dime a dozen when I was a kid. Dammit. People that say stuff like that are old.
Still a dime a dozen in Georgia. Those 80-96 f series cost about 1/3 to 1/4 or less of what a Chevy or GMC in similar condition is listed for. Not too far a drive or an unsatisfying one to come get one.

Well it's April now, so probably 100 degrees at night. Better luck next winter.

I agree. That is why I brought it to begin with. That truck looked cool and ran good, but needs a lot of work.

I have a neater one I want to finish building. A 77 Ford Highboy dually. I need to get the Nova going first. Sorry no pictures of that one on my phone I guess.

But there's something satisfying about making something with your hands, and, the scents of cutting the wood are right up there with race gas, shop fumes from auto fluids/grease, or fresh tires.

Am I going to be turning exquisite patterns on a lathe from square stock... not these days. But a mitre box or a little measure twice cut once, assemble with an air nailer.... construction adhesive on some fine trim... nothing wrong with that.

Finally got the rad back in good shape for the Caprice.

This all started with me doing a coolant change, and since the lower rad hose was stuck on the block I tried to use the drain petcock. BIG mistake.

So a piece fell into the tank, and after 2 different parts stores ordered me the WRONG plugs, I got pissed and took the stupid thing right out of the car. Also rounded off the lower transmission cooler line which was rusty, so I cut that, and now am using some 5/8ths transmission hose temporarily, until the car passes the safety, since it's not being driven this year much anyway- at which point I will use some actual steel and unions to join the lines together.

But thanks to Rapid Rad in Trenton here, they not only had the plug and installed it for me within minutes, I also got the hose as mentioned above with some clamps. Not bad for $35 dollars.

And to help with my paranoid *ss, I used a "liberal" amount of plastic weld over the petcock, so that it can never be removed again.

I like that body style. Dad had an 84 that he bought nearly new and had until around 2000.
