Picked-up the modified steering column shaft for my 64 C10 project. I'll do another partial-assembled housing test fit this weekend. If everything is good, an exterior housing makeover will commence (nothin' special just slicked & Satin Black). Then the guts get rebuilt for finished assembly & installation.

But there's something satisfying about making something with your hands, and, the scents of cutting the wood are right up there with race gas, shop fumes from auto fluids/grease, or fresh tires.

Am I going to be turning exquisite patterns on a lathe from square stock... not these days. But a mitre box or a little measure twice cut once, assemble with an air nailer.... construction adhesive on some fine trim... nothing wrong with that.
Plus, the ladies can't resist when you smell of rich mahogany.

worked on the inner fenders for the traveler,it had surface rust. i used por15 de greaser and metal prep.then rolled it with Eastwood platinum.

Scored a free riding mower this afternoon, just had to go pick it up. Front tire was flat, battery was dead. Got it home, charged the battery, it won't hold a charge so it needs a new one, but with the charger on it I got it to start, runs great. Needs a deck belt and an adjuster for the deck. Got air in the tire. Drove it around the yard. Already ordered the parts, $26. Think a friend has a seat for it. Should be able to flip it for $400 😁

Those older mtd/troy built "pony" units are no joke.

We've got one we snagged in 2013, probably put 5-600 hours on it. Replaced 2 tires, deck spindles, and a set of blades. Never had an oil change or plugs or anything. Still runs like a champ.
