What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2021]

Doesn't look like much but it was a full long weekends worth of work. Some parts were blasted but they did a crap job which required clean-up. That clean-up resulted in a bunch of extra work because of flash rusting. It was very frustrating to get things clean enough for paint to adhere. And then came the rain.... All. F@#king. Day. I couldn't open the shop door because of the 100% humidity. It was so foggy in the shop you could barely see from end-to-end (50' length) by the time the final piece was getting sprayed. My eyes were on fire.

Expecting front tires, machined/lightened V8 clutch set-up, & the final rear-end hardware today/tomorrow.

Spent most of the weekend at the shop working on the Blazer so I didn't get the Monte done to be able to take out yesterday, which was probably a good thing because we had some very spirited driving out to this spot from Heinz Field. All the Blazer stuff I will stick in its thread

That's a good call and probably the way I would go too, although that orange McLaren is very beastly as well. When I was out in Vegas I took almost that same car out on their track out there, 720 is one hell of a car. Although they said that it was constantly having issues

I've never owned a merc that didn't have *some* laundry list of "recommended" repair at the dealership.

They still run, and aren't a serious risk... but it's always xyz flex disc showing stress cracks, xyz ball joint wearing, xyz gasket with minor leakage, some steering piece, front brakes at 40% but you're good for 40k or so miles, rear brakes at 15% but you're fine for another 4-5 oil changes..... even if I dropped all the cash and had everything fixed at once I have no doubt the next visit there'd be 5 new things on the list 🤣

Still, loved every single one of them. Except my sister bought a c class in the early 2000s. That wasn't my favorite car, but, then again it's entry level for a reason....

I started shopping for DW. Got the hotels booked (avoided Kalamazoo per L92 OLDS rec), got the roof rack figured out (sort of). and called McLeod about refreshing the clutch. They offer a rebuild service which is just a little over half the price of a new one ($400 v 750).
