What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2021]

Spent the day getting rid of rattles and issues on my Grand Cherokee. Tightened up the spare tire that was flopping around, changed the rattling dash speakers, and changed out the EGR valve to get the check engine light out. Also got to hose out the engine bay from the upper radiator hose blowing out.
Still have to change the drivers auto tinting mirror and maybe the rain light sensor on the windshield, but it is nearly a decent vehicle again

Still slugging it out on rebuilding the veranda. I can usually only manage to get in a couple hours after work in the evenings, and had to work all day yesterday, but we got a full day in today thankfully.
When I say sh*t is rotten on this, I ain’t kidding. This was standard construction grade 2x4’s behind the plywood fascia on the left corner:
Honestly looked like termites had gotten to it, but we don’t have any in this part of the country. Junk.
Rest of it is slowly coming along tho, here’s a few pictures of the progress.
The tree in the corner will be coming out, it’s too close to the fence and house and it’s not what I wanted anyways. Once it’s out, I’ll reconfigure the landscaping blocks and plant a Swedish Aspen in there instead. Should look really nice.
But first I gotta finish all the cutting, painting, and rebuilding.

I've found damaged wood where water made rot set in and then other insects, especially ants, got into the rot and made some passages. Your stuff could be something similar.
I just sprayed undiluted liquid seven on the surrounding wood before adding the new ground contact stuff in, then sprayed the heck on top of that, then left some killing granules on the dirt within a couple inches of the area.
If any bugs were stupid enough to go back they wouldn't live long, never looked back.
Dude, it was probably ants. We have a couple of bad boards on the deck we lost to the sneaky little bastards.

It appears to be an advance auto parts sell-off because a couple the parts are carquest packaging when labeled private brand.
Then you can add their 5% off coupon on top of the discounted prices as well.
They email a "closeout" parts link that you can then edit and replace the car code with whatever the code is of each vehicle/engine combo you own. Anytime you alter the link it'll show every closeout item for that combo at any time, but often with a big batch of discontinued inventory hitting they email you... or at least me.
I only buy for what I own, but I do get greedy when the price is right.
example - They had reman ecm units for sale at at about 96% discount. Yes, they can be iffy sometimes. But I bought what they had, eleven, and I figure if/when I need one then the entire lot is less than one junkyard test used unit by a good bit.
Then there's maintenance parts. I recently learned my 77c10 and 02 yukon xl use the same part number for one of the oil filters I like using. Normally one costs me about $9. I bought all they had left. I've got 22 oil filters headed to the shelf for less than the price of 2. They say the shelf life is 6-10yrs based on storage habits. These will last me less than 5.
Some parts I order just 1 of to get a gauge on who made it, and, how old - some of the parts are old stock from the 1990s and have gm part numbers stamped on when you open it. Those I go back and order more, sometimes all.
So my first order was around 280 pieces more or less. After today's (partial) delivery I ordered another roughly 120pcs.
Shipping is VERY reasonable for me. Wonder what that means for the closeout warehouse location. Both orders combined added up to less than $90 shipping. And that includes heavier parts like blower motors, belt tensioners, steering gear parts, u joints, wiper motors, plug wire sets, etc. An oil filter doesn't sound like much either, until you have 5 dozen in a box, or almost a dozen ecms.
