Still gettin’ after it on the veranda/front of the house overhaul. Really starting to come around now, new boards, fresh paint, composite decking on the corners and overhangs done, and new plastic lattice to replace the old rotten sh*t.

Also replaced the eavestrough downspout and extension. I’m very happy with what we’ve been able to accomplish so far, and it’s really starting to look so much better already. Been doing my fair share of painting, but I ain’t really a fan of it. Oh, and more flippin’ masking too.

Think I’m gonna stick to painting cars.
Lol

I’m off on a week’s holidays this week, that dammed half dead tree is coming down tomorrow.

Well, two-thirds of the Model-A crew has thrown our plans for having three running/driving cars in jeopardy. Add to that issues w/parts on the Coupe & Cabriolet & I'm very nervous about the pending dead-line. But.... I was again assured we'll have all three ready to roll by lunch-time Thursday.

I've been staying busy w/parts make-overs for my car & getting missed items secured. My buddy picked-up my rear end @ lunch (today) so he can get the bearings replaced & exchange the axle tubes & center housing for blasted/PC'd Black parts. Tonight's focus will be getting the rear ends installed in both the Coupe & Cabriolet, The new 4spd is in the Coupe & I got the rear radius bars cut down & welded to their new shorter length on Friday night. I wasn't happy w/the work (conditions possibly impacting the weld quality) but my buddy says they're good to go. I also cut a new floor board & I'll do it again for the Cabriolet once the engine/trans/OD unit are in place (so I can add the hole needed for the OD shifter/actuator). Wheels arrived for the Cabriolet today so when I retrieve the rear end I'll leave them to get the tires mounted/balanced. Tick tock tick tock.

Looks great like everything else you do. Eavestrough. That's a new one on me. We call them gutters. I guess it's kind of like calling the hood a bonnet or visa versa.

Thanks Jared.

Agreed, and it must be a Canuck thing, or possibly just a “me” thing. I’ve always just called them eavestroughs. It made it interesting when I tried to check the availability at my local Home Despot tho, as “gutters” seemed to be the more popular term.
😅

My eyes glazed over. :wtf: is an eavestrough? Crazy Canayjuns....

Maybe I dunno what an eavestrough is, but around here the gutters are where the homeless people live.
Silly ‘Mericans…

Did my impression of a Canadian lumberjack today.

Cut down this bish by hand with nothing more than a bow saw and a pair of large clippers:

About halfway through cutting through the main trunk, I was really wishing for one of @joesregalproject’s damn chainsaws. But I got ‘er done.

Made a dump run to dispose of the branches, then came back for the rest of the trunk and the root ball. Dug out what I could and got medieval on the roots with the neighbors axe. Some of which were in excess of 2”.

About the time the shovel handle started cracking trying to pry it out, I said **** this, and tapped into my inner redneck. Strung several industrial slings together, and backed up the ole Ferd service truck. Hooked the slings to the trailer hitch, dropped it into 4 low and let her eat.

**** you root ball, I WIN!!
