In an effort to "learn how to Volvo" Ive been wrenching on the kids car. Fixed the fuel line. PS pump whines less now that we have flushed it. Airbag light on that I can't seem to get cleared. He is saving his $$ for new tires and maybe he can get it rolling and insured by the end of summer. Insurance is the next hurdle. I cannot fathom putting him on the company policy ( besides he is under 25 ) so he will have to go it alone. He's getting quotes of $5k to $7k a year.

Wrenching on the worktruck. 2 new 19.5 front tires ( swapped in driveway ), fixed reverse lights, fixed 4 ways, full lube and oil change. Goes in for its annual check tomorrow.

Getting tired of working on old junk some days.

So our son has his own policy, paid for by himself, but it is written under our account. Basically it uses our insurance score, but doesn't effect our insurance. Saves him huge $. Luckily my wife is our insurance agent 🙂 see if your insurance company can do something similar.

Yep, both Dennis Kirk and J&P came up dry for the rear tires that I wanted. Not all that happy about Dunlops or off-shore clones and Coker is more about vintage and classic tread patterns than perform when it comes to bikes.

Yep, both Dennis Kirk and J&P came up dry for the rear tires that I wanted. Not all that happy about Dunlops or off-shore clones and Coker is more about vintage and classic tread patterns than perform when it comes to bikes.

For Canadian, check Fortnine. I find they have pretty good pricing compared to US vendors. The other one I'd look at is Royal Distributing - though not sure they do tires though.

I've also used Twisted Throttle in the past as well without issue. Do have to be careful though, Bike Bandit recently went bankrupt and apparently were still taking orders via their website. Ended up with something like >$600k in paid for but unfilled orders

Well.... we were turning over possession on the old place today. Was going to move the firebird to the new house.

It had common maintenance grounds, no maintained by us. Turns out they hired out work to install new pips and sprinklers.... but never gave notice. Never marked the work area. Never flagged anything. No cones. Never fixed grade. And with the heat everything was mottled dead and dirt already.

Walked 4 feet away from the front door... Took a bad spill. Heard a noise. Hit hard. Scrapes and bruises aside, one of these sides is not like the other. No, no idea of padding in that picture, just all swelling. Pain cuts through my normal meds all the way up to the knee.

Car isn't getting moved after all. Now I wait until my 330 appt to learn what's what

Exactly what my Dad said after buying his first new car. I always planned on buying a brand new Firebird and now that I can afford one they don't make them anymore. RATS!!!!

Maybe a torn ligament, that's what popped in my ankle. If so, gonna have stability issues for a while. May have also torn up the cartilage like me and end up needing surgery(ies?) like me. I just got a referral off base to see what's the latest on mine, likely in it for surgery #4 and I didn't sell much at all.

Very possible. Just to rule out a break needing to be set I saw my GP this afternoon. No clear breaks in anything, but, theyre going to have the radiologist review for cracks. As an initial matter, the bones are good, but, just todays evaluation said it was a minimum of a high grade 2 sprain, maybe a grade 3.

To begin: No walking. Crutches for bathroom visits. No driving, wear a device/brace, not just wrap, once the surface sensitivity can come down to where it is possible. Keep it elevated and unused.

Instructed to follow up for MRI to see ligament/tendon issues with specialist, or, wait and see for few days at my choice

Just need to find a sub-1000 mile that someone stashed away. Firebird were always nicer than the camaro when it came to the detail work - trim, gauge layout, appearance packages.... and this is coming from a guy who had a 78 z28.

I have a 1968 Firebird Convertible that I have been saving for over 40 years. Right now it has a Pontiac 455 w/Super T-10 manual trans, 1979 TA disc brake rear w/1967 double factory traction bars, 1969 front disc brakes and 1967 RA/HO exhaust manifolds. I need to do the floorboards and quarters. Otherwise it is pretty solid. I guess that will have to do..............

Did manage to pay Fortnine a visit and do a search on their tire inventory. I am now liking the Conties, both for the tread pattern and for the fact that they offer sizing for vintage rides. Only ouch to them is the pricing.
