Yes according to what I've read about them they often have electrical problems from vibration wearing through the harnesses resulting in shorts to ground and an array of other electrical issues all that can be solved with tape when your in one this deep. It also could have been prevented with just a little slack in the harness.

This is a forum, and which you would think you would have people coming in understanding of aspects of vehicles and doing work in real life applications.

I have no problem standing behind the truck I have because it has done everything I've needed it to do for what I use it for and I don't have the small pp issues others have. I was unaware of the competition that others have in their minds so if someone can come in and tell me where I need to step up to their "standard".. well I have the money so tell me. I live frugal but can strut the bank.

I bought this truck in May of 2011 after a tornado wiped out the truck I had at the time so since it happened on an Air Force Base they helped.

2001 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6.0l, I put a Cam in it and a few other mods. Gas burner, after my tuning gets like 11.5mpg, that's what they do. It out pulls my buddy's 12v Cummins so there's that. 12v is old stuff. If I needed a diesel truck I'd have one.

That have the factory 4.11 gears still? My 06 was horrid on fuel too, 300miles to a tank and it didn't matter speed or load. Swapping to 3.73 or 3.42 gears makes a HUGE difference.

It does, but it's on 33's so that helps, not the factory spec'd 29" tire.

The cost of investing into a gear set and putting it in, I'll never make that money back in the rest of my life with how often I drive this truck.

Pain in the butt. Like has been said, penny pinching with a million vehicles because CEO’s only care about money. If it’s a problem after warranty is done it’s not their problem.

been working on inventorying my personal book library. at about about 500 books now and still not halfway thru.
using an app with my smart phone that scans the ISBN code and pulls the data in, but it's only as good as the data already there, so I'm making between 4-6 corrections per entry on average.
at least now I don't have to think whether I own the book already or not and whether I need to buy it

Did some running this morning picking up parts and supplies so I didn't get to the shop until about 12. Definitely made progress though. Everything on the frame from the bed to the back of the motor is done! Fabricated a bracket for the fuel filters and switched the lines around.

I think my new setup is a little bit better than what it had.

I also heat wrapped the new up pipes and put them on. Yes I'm itching and I did soke the wrap in water, but short sleeves no gloves. Come to finde my new down pipe would not work. Apparently my old one is part of the kit the last owner installed and it and the turbo are different than stock. The only reason I was changing it was to loose the 9th injector hole but Barry from the machine shop figured out a 20mmx150 Subaru Impreza oil drain plug would work with a crush seal washer. Of course I had to order them in but I'll have them Monday. It shouldn't be a problem to put the plug in even after the cab is on it's a straight threw shot from the wheel well. I set up all the body bushings to put the cab back on and that's when things went south in a hurry! The lift I'm on is not in the best shape and no one uses it much. When we do use it it's usually real quick and we always drop it to the locks because it leaks oil BAD! Well my cabs been on it on the locks a few weeks and I guess all the oil leaked out of the lift because the leaky hydraulic ram fell out! Yes fell out of the post! So needless to say my cab is still in the air and still on the locks. I'll talk to Sam tomorrow about having someone come repair it Monday. So I'm switching gears again. Tomorrow I'm going to shoot for working from the front back lol today I went from back to front and did prity good. I may have a rad support back in it before a cab on it at this rate. No matter it's all gotta get done but I really wanted to have the cab on today so I could finish wiring tomorrow.
