The old ones had seen better days.

Got that damn power of attorney done after talking with someone not even on the North American continent. You keep telling them since '18 both our names are on the title but they don't remember so several emails later we both signed it away. Then with that same fool I had the pay off rolling from Allstate's end. For what it's worth Allstate got free labor out of me doing most of their work. Didi get the electronic transfer set up & claimed I could see the money by tomorrow. Yea, right. Now just waiting for the email saying they got the loan cleared. Just have to hold onto them until the Monte is to the right stage so I can drop the "storage" insurance.

Doesn't surprise me, they basically copied the F150 Ecoboost formula. The standard gas version is rated at 19mpg combined. The hybrid version only gets you up to 20. However, it adds 40hp and 100+ lbs of torque. I haven't towed with one yet but I can tell you they drive nice and the engine is incredible quiet and smooth. Can't feel it running and barely hear it at idle. Toyotas being Toyotas, they'll probably prove to be pretty trouble-free with regular oil changes. Wish I could afford one.
Just gotta be careful and throw the floor mats away before you drive off the lot...

Ditto. Has yours been treating you well? I really like the color and option spec of yours minus the v6.

I finally decided the Rainier needs to be retired due to frame rust and have set out searching for a replacement. Been test driving stuff for the past few days/weeks and settled in on the 15+ f150 5.0 ext cab, XLT 302A bench seat.

The options for V8, full frame, solid rear axle stuff these days is THIN.

Everything pre 10 F150 has 3V 5.4 and not worth touching, 11-14 5.0 are OK but the ext cab rear seats are really small and the interiors feel like something out of 2001
15+ Expeditions only come with IRS that looks really complicated to R&R at high mileage and only comes with the 3.5 TT, and the interiors feel dated like the 04-14 generation f150
18+ Expeditions are serious $$$ and again only 3.5TT
07-13 GMT900 tahoe/sierra rust really, really bad up here
15-19 tahoe/yukon has terrible visibility and the center console is so big the leg room is poor
Finding a 15+ tahoe/yukon with a bench is essentially impossible.
14-19 sierra/silverado ext cab rear doors open forward and makes getting into the rear seat hard, plus the hood sits really high on them an front visibility is bad
I won't consider a dodge
19+ GM are too ugly, puke.
Tundras are a lot additional $$$ and the affordable body style, 05-19 feel a bit dated for the 15-18 range and $$$, the new tundras are cool but big $$$$ since they JUST came out.

Found 1 of 3 available in the state and liked it (5.0, XLT 302a, ext cab), but it's a Canadian spec one and already starting to surface rust on the frame. Just need to find one from down south.

I really do like my F-150. The ride quality is fantastic, the interior is whisper quiet. It still looks and feels like new. The interior is leaps and bounds better than the previous generation. I get about 22 mpg highway and 18 city. Full synopsis of every maintenance item I've done to it-

-The oil pan was replaced under warranty under a TSB for a small leak, since being replaced it's been fine.
-The left turbo oil feed line was replaced under a TSB at no cost to me.
-Replaced the transmission fluid and coolant at 70k.
-Replaced spark plugs at 80k.
-Replace air filter once every 8-10k
-Replace oil and filter every 5k, I use Motorcraft filters and cheep Walmart Supertech Synthetic.

I freely and humbly admit that I was wrong about the Ecoboosts. When they first came out I was sure that they'd be an absolute problem child and Ford would have a tough time limping them through the warranty period. Time has proven me wrong. By most accounts they seem to be every bit as reliable as their peers.

The biggest issue ford had with them, to my knowledge, was with certain models that had certain options and people used them to tow, usually longer range and moderate to heavy loads.

Something in the integration end of all of it let them to stall and die when you got off the highway.

As the problem became well known, people who used their trucks in that way and had those options got rid of them. I think some could even fix it through forscan. Not sure if it continued to be an issue further on, but, when we bought our 2018 new it was and it's why we went non-ecoboost. Plus, I liked the k.i.s.s. of less parts overall anyways.

But as you said, seemed to work OK, even in the 4cyl mustang version which... meh, I'm happier with our gts and v6s.
