What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2022]

Great you guys just reminded me I was supposed to clean my chimney today.

I didn't get anything constructive done today the landlord needed us to move cars in the building so he can put up a wall and do some wiring. Basically we made a huge mess.View attachment 208518View attachment 208519
It's like a shell game our bey is getting made smaller and we are eventually moving into a different one with 2 overhead doors but the guy currently in there hasn't moved yet and the landlord wants to get a jump on the improvements so we are shuffling cars and tools in and out of the way. I don't even know where all my stuff is at this point. No big deal though I'll find it all when the time comes.
You know we're always good for two things:

1) reminding you of more work to do;

2) coming up with more ways to spend your money.

You're welcome 😉

First 'mod' on the eff-juan-fiddy

The 4x4s get a 1.25" steel lift block and the tailgate is kinda tall and hard to get into. Plus the bed is harder to reach into and the pickup gets that dumb stinkbug stance.

So I pulled the lift block. It came down about 1.5" so it's got about 1.5-2" of rake instead of 3.5".

After. Not a huge change but a little helps.

And I replaced a cracked fog light

Ran my new Chainsaw for the first time today, cut some cookies out of this tree. Same bar & chain between the two. New one was a tad rich and pulled a little faster in the wood than the older one I have. 25" bar.🤘

What's an adult chainsaw run? I'm gonna need one in the years to come.
Depends new/used/purpose.

A nice limb saw is still under $200 new from an orange brand. Go up towards $500 new if you want to handle average trees to about 16" or so.

Couple hundred bucks used if you're willing to do repairs and go through one.

Those are big boy ones in my pic... about $1300+ new. Used market in good shape $1k+.
Definitely get what you pay for. 77cc 6.5hp machine that shreds everything. I have big trees here so I like to have them at the ready.

Then again those heavy pigs come out for the big stuff and for some fun just in general. The one I do use the most is my little MS261 Pro Saw. 50.2cc 4.3hp 12.5lbs full of fluids with a 20" bar. This does 90% of my work and will pull a 18" cut with a 20" bar. Plenty of power in this little saw.

I will spend the money on a Pro Saw and take care of it, compared to spending the money on some under powered average one and replacing it every few years.

I have the middle saw between the little one and the big one, the MS362 Pro Saw. 59cc 5.1hp, pulls a 20" bar perfectly. Can run a 25" if one of the big ones goes down but the 20" fits it better. The Oiler is not made for the longer bars. This is what I use for the stuff that is 12" and up to 20", maybe a hair bigger just have to finish the cut on the other side. After that it's the big saws just because I don't want to be out there all day.

Comes down to how much money you want to spend, and what you need to do. I got these all much cheaper than new price, went completely through them, fixed what needed to be fixed and they run amazing. This is my hurricane repsonse stuff, I want them to work and last. Florida life.

Well it looks like I have 3 acres to mow down, yank roots, lick off branches, burn the waste, etc. After a search, seems a 20" bar is a good place to be especially since I still have the wee Poulan for the JV stuff. At or under a grand is better than I had originally figured for a good saw that will take a beating and still be worth maintaining.

That MS362 would be my choice. They are the newer style, however you could literally rebuild the top end on the back of a truck with just using an 8mm wrench and the torx end chainsaw combo tool. Plenty of power, newer style anti-vibration system.

I would go for the manual adjustable carb version instead of the electronic controlled one but that's just me.

There's actually one for sale in my local area for $400, I've got 6 friends of mine looking at it because they know what it is and seen what mine can do.

Once you use a pro saw with good power, yea you won't mess with the normal stuff.

I'm pretty good at that on my own but thank you

Once you have a good saw you'll never use that other one again lol people think I'm nuts doing firewood with a 24" bar but I don't even bend over taking limbs off logs
