What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2022]

So we bought the Envoy back in April of 2016 and the PO or his valet buddies had backed it into something and dented the plastic bumper skin.

This thing was easy to remove, they're so cheaply mounted it's laughable. I flipped it over, stepped on it, let it sit in the sun and now it's way less bad.

Before I could reinstall, there was some rust that needed dealt with. Surprising given all my rust free claims on this thing.

I'm sure you rust belt guys are laughing. I'd actually cleaned a bunch of dirt off here and removed the top section that makes it not a step bumper. Not perfect, but a lot less bad. That should slow it down to the point something else rots out first.

And with the top back on. I chased the threads with a tap, the bolts were a little rough coming out.

After the skin was back on, I headed to the car wash to get all the salt off. I timed out the undercarriage spray like I always do, it looks nice and clean down there now. I don't think these scratches are buffing out.

Couldn't see them when it was pushed in, maybe I should go undo it all tomorrow. 🤣
And on this day last year, I dropped my newborn in the non-G thread. Born 3 weeks early with a fetal growth restriction at 5# 10oz.

She was tiny! But you'd never know the existential threat she persevered through in the womb today. Her length, weight, and development are all back on track.

Awesomesauce.

How cool for you that you have a Riviera that allows you to be in that exclusive club w/the other 99. I'm sure you'll enjoy each others stories.

They're still not the G-body platform that this site is focused on.
Bet for the right number of Benjamins you too could be in that "special" club too. But I don't think you'd want to be fitted for a helmet with a drool cup since it would also cost some IQ points besides those Benjamins.

Nope, I'll take a hard pass. No exclusive clubs for me. I've never even joined a non-exclusive club.

Had a buddy look it over since I don't have a scantool. Was absolutely fuel system had to reset the alcohol content as well as the Flex Fuel sensor
Yup, done it a few times. Down here in Florida we are having a bunch of water in the gas from parking outside.

That H&K has seven in the tube, hmmm. Wonder if there is a spacer or sleeve in it that can be removed to increase the count?? Used to be some models came with a spacer or insert that limited how many shells could be loaded into the magazine. Every so often one of the hunting mags would offer a "tip" on what models had this limiter and how to go about extracting it to get a little more mag capacity.

I found a 20V Dewalt 1/4" hex impact driver laying in the middle of the road a couple months ago. It worked fine but my stuff is mostly Milfukee so I didn't have a charger for it, so I threw it in the toolbox and forgot about it. I was rooting around today and found it so I decided to go buy a charger. The cheapest standalone charger at Home Depot was $100 (and yeah I know knockoff ones can be found online cheap) but they had these drill sets on sale. Comes with a brushless drill, 2 batteries, a charger and bag (not a stupid blow molded case) for $100. Regularly $160, sale ends on the Feb 2nd IIRC. Looks like Lowe's is matching that sale as well. I still prefer Milwaukee and I hate how Dewalt markets their tools as 20V even though they are 18V like everyone else, but it's not a bad deal IMO even if you aren't always looking for excuses to buy more tools.
