What did you do to your non-G body project today? [2023]

If security is important to you then the glass panes could be swapped out for sheetmetal inserts to close up the windows. Otherwise I'd tint them black or dark as possible and add a set of steel mesh inner panels over them by way of added security.

Your candidate looks like it might have been a race hauler at some point or another, at least the floor shows the scars typical of that kind of life. As for the escape hatch, can you buy that as a kit and install it yourself??

The hatch is probably more convenience than anything else. I've lost so much weight, I can make it in and out without much problem these days.

Windows I'd probably put a shade behind it to just block out. Let's be honest, these giant tin cans aren't that secure what with such thin metal anyways, just a case of paranoia.

But yeah, the trailers I've been looking at, most show signs of being race haulers in the past. Which is fine, I want to haul stuff on our eventual move, but, store it for now waiting for the move. I figure one car hauler for me, buy a small 7x16 for the wife for her 'stuff' and probably a second 8x20 or 8x24 for me to 'use' and actively load/unload to shuttle stuff and purchases around.

But *this* particular unit would get the a/c hooked up to electric service at the house and be a climate controlled garage for.me to work on some bucket list projects at the house without the time and expense for a garage I'd barely use before moving

Replaced the rack and pinion boots on the CVPI. One had developed a split.

So, my perusing for a trailer(s) have taken a strange turn. I got sent a lead on a a used unit. Not sure what I think. A dealer is selling it, but it's got a 60/60 warranty - 60 feet and 60 seconds.

For the price I think I could throw a couple grand in upgrades in it, but, it's got a couple negatives:

- used of course, it's a 98 pace shadow gt
- flat roof
- no over axle escape hatch
- sliding side windows (people see what you're hauling)

It's also got some positives:

- 30 footer
- tri-axle, 5200# each
- tie-down tracks on floor
- cheap craftsman tool chest built-in with cabinets
- on board air compressor
- 4 of the 6 tires are new, all on aluminum mags
- interior finished/lightly insulated, with lights and multiple air hatches.

Being a dealer they can 30-day tag me home.

Don't have a good pulse on what a unit like that ought to go for.

The triaxle may also be tricky short term with the driveway, but, I plan on moving soon so I'm not making a decision based on getting in and out easily.

If anyone has thoughts on value and/or overall opinions these brand trailers I'm all ears.

Around here I'd expect at least $14k. Put some limo tint on the windows and send it.

Black tint the window. Door you can probably do better yourself than one that is already there. Plus if you put one in yourself you can beef up the wall area as they aren’t as great as you’d think. My brother has had to just about rebuild and rebrace his 26’ and the side door almost fell off at the hinge to the body going down the road.

Started working on the rear suspension on the Buick LaCrosse. All the old stuff is out. No broken bolts, only had to sacrifice a parking brake cable and the clip for it. I was expecting worse. You can see just how rusty the rear subframe was... paper thin in a lot of areas.

Had to get a new tire for the daily so figured I would just get some winter wheels and tires, hopefully this gets rid of having to add air constantly but with my luck its just more of the same. At least they are nice Nitto winter tires, almost feel like it is too nice to put them on now but may change by the time I get home from SEMA

Yeah I figured they were well worth the $375 alone, which is a good thing cause the only wheel I tested does have the same wheel bead leak
