Over the last few months I've been doing a bit of painting Johnny Cash style: one piece at a time. I have to cover things up in the garage and wet the floor, paint, wait a bit, relocate the part, clean, and then park my car where I painted so only some of this happened "today".
I picked up a locker for the end of my 5 drawer cart, but in addition to not being intended for tool boxes it was the wrong color. It's currently in black primer and still being mocked up but here's a pic of the door which was cleaned, scuffed, & cleaned again before being sprayed with Rustoleum Sandable Primer and then being top coated in Rustoleum Red Brake Caliper Paint.
I also scuffed, primed, and painted some handles to be mounted vertically on the opposite end of the same cart, on the side of an end cabinet that's also being mocked up (but was the correct color).
A couple of months passed between primer and paint, so a quick wipe-down with wax & grease remover was in order before applying the same red top coat.
The factory 36mm sway bar for my truck received a similar treatment. It got blasted clean at work before being covered in Rustoleum Sealer Primer, Filler Primer, Sandable Primer, and of course, the red caliper paint.
I bought a brand new pan for my truck's 4L65e and simply scuffed and cleaned it before hitting it with Rustoleum Sandable Black Primer and Gloss Black Engine Enamel. The stainless bolts seen in the photo will hold the pan firmly in place while adding a little flash.
The factory bellhousing and tailshaft housing got cleaned every way imaginable before receiving a dose of Bonding Primer and Gloss Black Engine Enamel.
