What did you do to your shop today?

Reorganized 2 drawers on my tool chest to make room for a few new hand tools I got from the father-inlaw. It is absolutely to max capacity for the 22in top and bottom box.

Cleaned up my workbench. Also did a service on the air compressor and wiped it down.

Hung up my Christmas present from the kids yesterday… it’s just what I wanted!

Still have some tweaks for it, but it’s hung and works great.

Big things happening for The Skunkworks lately.

My brother from another mother Mike is making great progress on the rotisserie, he’s got to redo two of the mounting arms (because he forgot to make them mirror image), and has a bit more welding left to do, but it’s nearly complete.

I took what he had completed to work, and put the pieces in storage at the back of the shop for now. Once he has the rest done I’ll bolt the casters on it, and then it can sit there until I’m ready to drag it home and put the body of The Juggernaut on it. Still have to pick up a set of hydraulic jacks for it yet too, but that can wait until he’s completely done.

I spent some smart money over the holiday break on some long-wanted pieces for the shop. Along with the full complement of dimple dies I’ve already posted, I ordered an Eastwood bead roller drive system, a matching table, and a set of new forming dies for the roller as well.

The drive and table showed up today, and tonight I got them installed.

This is going to turn my bead rolling abilities on its ear! So happy with these latest purchases, I can’t wait to see what I can really do with them now!

Trying to reorganize the "parts bin" - years of rare and/or spare parts. 80% Cutlass parts, 15% Aurora parts, the rest is anything Cadillac/Buick etc.

The goal is to re-pack/compress the boxes, index their content and then, store them from the most unlikely to be used in the back, to the most likely to be used in the front of the storage space...

Marie Kondo?

looks like you have clearance, get the racks that hang from the ceiling. you can double or triple stack the banana boxes you have on there. depending on floor space, get the rolling Metro shelving racks (the HD brand is garbage)

hmmm never thought about that. could be indeed an evolution of my primitive storage a.k.a. pile up...
