Which flywheel do I need?

Did you consider using a smaller diameter brake booster? I believe some S-10's came with a small diameter unit, possibly the ones with the 4.3 liter v6. You should be able to find one if you hunt around in the junkyard long enough.

cool thanks. I guess that hard plastic line may rub on the steering shaft, it doesnt look close enough to be a problem in that pic. Regardless, I ordered an SS clutch line from somebody on another forum so hopefully it will bend properly.

I'm thinking maybe i can trim an 1/8th inch off the feed tube and get away with a sharp bend in the tube rather than a kink. We will see.

No, I hadnt really given it any thought but that is an interesting point. Do you think it would provide adequate boost? As it is right now the brakes in the Elky feel GREAT considering the weight of the vehicle, I would feel bad about hindering it. I will look at some parts websites right now to see if anything cross references.

If your running headers I'd stay away from those plastic lines.....and for the SS lines you'll need these adapters..

I think the kit includes them, but thanks for the link. I wish I wasnt running headers :x ...or that I had one of those howe throw-out bearings and a bellhousing with out the slave mounting flange. I know you said you were going to cut yours off but I am afraid to do something irreversible like that. Maybe there are some aftermarket ones I can look into for the future so I dont have to have custom headers made.

you can install a hydraulic thro out bearing without having to remove that flange for the slave cylinder. I was planning on cutting it off to clean up the area. Another thing is the headers I'm running are Hedman Elite and they are made to give you ground clearance for lowered cars so they are made to tuck in tight and they ride very close to the slave cylinder. I don't think that would be a problem with another style of long headers

well the headers come into contact with that slave cylinder mounting flange is the problem, so I'd have to cut it off too or find another bellhousing. The guy I bought the transmission from said the bellhousing is rare and worth like 100 bucks so I dont want to destroy it.

I think my headers are dynomax...something. They were the cheapest name-brand ones summit had a few years ago. They are already rusty and crappy so I'm just going to hack them up for now until I figure out a better plan. I'm actually going to go work on that right now while I have time.

Did you have like an oil pressure sending unit on the side of the block that interfered with the headers?

I used a Howe hydraulic throwout bearing and cut off the flange to clear the headers. I am in the middle of hanging the pedals. I got some braided lines and used a remote bleeder..I have Dynomax headers too. If you have cast iron manifolds then the stock stuff will work.

feel free to post pics in here if you want, I always like to see what other people are doing.

Well, I'm like a few hours away from being able to drive this car. The main priorities left on my list include finishing the headers (need to buy tubing), modifying the feed tube on the master cylinder, and then just assembly. My main area of concern is with the hydraulic set-up. I know the angle of the master rod is not ideal, and I worry that even if there isn't an immediate problem, it will cause me headaches later on.
