Then I guess you'll be changing the thread's title cause bad luck has nothing to do with your breakdowns....😛

The rear end breaking was totally, 100% my fault for sure but the rest of the stuff is bad luck or Karma or something. Lol.

So, in the future we....you should have learned (I hope) you need:

1. Cheap vortec 350 from craigslist
2. Cone or Auburn posi track
3. Brass freeze plugs

I think you mean cone (Auburn) or Eaton posi....🙂

I plan on leaving the engine in the truck until it forces me to change it. When it gets replaced, yes I'm putting in brass plugs. I'd love to have a "real" posi unit but I'm gonna have to use the gov loc for now. I found one on Craigslist last night for $200. If it checks out, I'm gonna try to get it tonight.

PontiacGP, you're learning me pretty quick. Lol. I'm seriously gonna try not to explode the next rear end. It definitely wasn't worth it.

Oh, and I'm sure watching me deal with my broken stuff is cheap entertainment for you guys. This is a public service I'm doing here!!! 😀

Got it. It was in good shape, the right ratio and had clean gear oil. It wasn't a gov loc but an open diff but that's gonna have to work for now.

Maybe the silver lining is the open diff will hopefully stand up to Dr. Destructo (you) better. 😛
