I bet. We have one guy in our club who races barefoot... I ain't pretending to be that kind of hard. Hell, I have the softest feet of anyone in the Infantry ever.

Evidently while autocross is hard, it isn't racing:

I guess drag racing isn't racing either. Or anything in the Olympics. Or generally anything involving time keeping.

When I go autocrossing, I refer to it as just that. It is racing just like time trials/attack are, but I have really only said I'm going racing when I'm going wheel to wheel. The one that kills me is when someone does an open track day or an HPDE and claims they're going racing.

Painting seems to be a recurring theme here. Weather is cooperating so I borrowed a suit from the bunny and threw on a paint grade breather mask and slithered under the S-10 again. Sunday it was a coat of RustCheck rust killer. Today it was a layer of Krylon Matte Black anti-rust. Tomorrow it may be another coat of the Krylon to get any spots that got missed today. if that doesn't need to happen, then it is on to the Duplicolor Flat black. All this is targeted at the floor pan, inner faces of the rocker panels, and the frame and crossmembers. The only persons getting to see this are me, and anyone imitating an earthworm. This is all by way of trying to avoid the ravages of winter salted roads. Around here it is a mixture of hot sand (sand/salt mix) and the liquid stuff, which is kind of like liquid calcium. Either way it eat metal like a teenager eats pizza; and about as messily.

Also did a coolant check and found that it was a little light on the capability so it needed a little sweetening. Ended up using a micro-siphon and decanting about a quart of coolant from the radiator and then replacing it with pure Prestone. That brought things up to -40 degrees which works for me. Added some more into the overflow tank to perk it up as well. There is so much junk, shrouding and baffles and covers and ??? in that engine bay that for the life of me I could not locate the drain valve for the rad. May not happen this year but the lower rad hose is going to get modified by adding an steel sleeve insert that has a bung for a drain valve in it into that circuit. Easier to get to and work with.

Also passed on converting the doors to electric windows again. Have all the mechanical components but the wiring harness is a pisser even with donor material from another vehicle. This subsystem is so specific that the harness almost has to come from the exact year and model or it won't integrate into the existing circuitry properly. Major pain in the patoot.

Ah, the bunny suit?? We-eell the bunny ain't talking to me right now because he's pissed about me getting his suit dirty. Seems it's hard to get grease and paint stains out of it and he isn't much on doing laundry. he claims its hare-assment but I think it's more ear-atating than anything else.

Not bad for a beater. Looks like someone has already de-activated the A/C by removing the belt. Basic black makes it way easier to do touch ups and repairs.

Yesterday I dropped the rear of the new project. Hope to clean it up some and flip it. Wish I could keep it but I can fit 4 kids in it... View attachment 157399 View attachment 157400 View attachment 157403 I post the after pics later I still need to drop the front. This is the before.
It’s supposedly a 350ss. Have not checked the RPOs yet. Interior is mint aside from some cracks in the dash. Plan to paint and a couple little things

Found two broken exhaust manifolds Bolts. Got one out with an easy out and put a helicoil in the other. Put in engine in. Jegs motor mounts worked good. Bolted up headers. Jacked the rear up and got the Camino on four jacks stands. If it stops raining will start bolting up the trans tomorrow.

Cool truck. I have a 77 4x4 highboy dually. I doubt it is a 390 unless it was swapped in. 390's were car engines and 352, 360's were truck engines. Good engines. I have a lot 360 parts if you end up needing something?

I mean it says 390 on the vc sticker lol

It's an fe for sure tho. Weird valve cover intake situation. Not really even gonna mess with it much till the regal is done.
