I appreciate it. I've done a few 400s and 350s. MY 2004r experience has been valve body mods, accumulator pistons and suck for shift feel. Front pump and boost valves mods, and tailshaft bushings. I haven't tore the 2004r all the way down yet.

I need a few select hard parts, the kit, like you bought, and a new 2800 lu converter. I already have the CK shift kit and a billet servo.

Hopefully, I will be starting on mine soon. It's hard to believe how quickly time passes. It's about time to start accumulating the necessary parts. This project has been on the backburner for years now. The trans was torn down probably 10 yrs ago...hope I'm still able to find everything:confused:

That's the problem ith being busy! With building a new house, it will take me all summer probably to do it. An hour here and there, without losing parts.
Glad I had a spare transmission.

When I did mine it took me over the winter. The grown up stuff throws a wrench in the mix.

I had an '88 CZ trans that I ended up letting go cheap. I'm kicking myself in the *ss every time I think of what I fool I was. But, at least the valvebody and governor can be modified in my Caprice CTF trans.

Having a spare trans is a good thing. You can always cannibalize it for hard parts and hardware.

Yeah, I would be kicking ng myself in the *ss too, but like you said, you can modify the VB and get good shift qualities.
