I'm no expert and somebody will have to back me up on this but here goes: A relatively easy and cheap way to add bigger brakes is to swap the stock g-body spindles for those from a b-body so you can use (3rd gen?) camaro front brakes which are inherently larger like 11.5" or so. An additional...
H3 on Oahu is pretty sick- it's a 4 lane elevated split-level going through the tunnel in the Ko'olau mountains down to the east coast. This one's fun to open it up on. Also, Waimea Canyon Drive on Kauai was pretty awesome too- although this one could only be done with a rented Malibu- it gave...
Clearly the video is old but nothing that Jim Campbell said in it is false. This car will be in the U.S.- although not in anyone's driveway at first- but at least is that much closer to giving average Joe's a reason to go to their local GM dealer. I, for one, don't have 40K-50K+ to put up for a...

GM needs to release this to the public like, NOW.
Otherwise, I'll be looking into a career change if ya know what I mean
Looks good, man! Makes me wonder why they even sell the replacement dash pads which are a lot of $$$$ and probably way more work. Anyone ever go that far?
Anyone got an idea for how to get the hood to release with a broken cable? I managed to get it out of the little housing piece that mounts behind the kick panel, but clamping on to the inner cable with a vice grips and pulling like crazy isn't doing anything for popping it- any other ideas?
Not expecting much from a junkyard on an island-- but I'm still gonna look.
supkylesup-
Thanks for the offer- I'll let you know if I might need it. Hopefully not though- the shipping to me might not be worth it.
So I got my speedo cable fixed, take her out for a little test drive, pull back in to the driveway to pop the hood, and end up breaking the hood release cable off at the handle  Needless to say, I'm in the market for a new replacement cable. Found one at Dixie Monte Carlo Depot but they...
Turns out the 84" cable works fine, so for anyone who replaces this thing, even though the stocker is ~94" the difference didn't matter. Anyone need a Lokar SP-1500U brand new in the box? Summit is charging me 10% to return it and I have to pay the shipping
I found the 84" cable from NAPA and they are getting it for me today. The problem is that the stock cable is 94" long which is in between the two lengths that NAPA lists for my car. The one they say is correct is 84" for a 4 spd auto (SS / 200-4R?) I am concerned a bit that the new shorter one...
You should check the Holley website- I'm pretty sure they have an interactive carb selector that will help you out but I'm pretty sure that 600cfm is not too small- if anything you should be able to get better throttle response at a small cost of top end power (assuming it can be tuned...
Anyone ever replace the stock speedo cable on an MC SS? The parts store said they can't get one for my car so I ordered a Lokar SP-1500U (cut to fit) but this thing has a screw on connector for the speedo end where the stocker is a clip on. My next stop is the dealer- anyone have another idea or...
Thanks for the leads- I'll be tearing into the dash tonight and tomorrow so I'll see what I can find- as for the little condensor thing inline with the tach wire- does anyone know if this is something that I can get from the parts store? Anyone got a part number for this thing?
Ok- so I posted on another existing thread in the tech pages, but I'll try here. 85 MC SS-- First is the factory temp guage- after much frustration, mis-diagnostics, and money out of my pocket while breaking in my brand new engine, I find out that the temp guage is completely off. I replaced the...
Does this tach fix work for other g's like say my MCSS? I have a similar issue in that the tach is not accurate. All of a sudden, it reads completely off like above 1000rpm at idle and when I hammer it, it doesn't go thru full range- stops moving at 4500rpm ish. Also, my factory temp gauge is...
Hello to all-
New to the site currently stationed in HI- a rabid g body fan;) I've owned 4 now and like many of you, the latest is the best. It's an 85 MC SS. I'll try to get some good pics up soon. Just finished a 355 and freshened her 2004r. Still workin out some kinks- I will likely lean on...
