Love the long block on a tarp in the family truckster! Future reference....Set it on a tire with the sump in the middle. You wouldn't believe how well it will ride like that.

Update:

While the car was apart, upgraded the driveshaft yoke to a Strange 1350 chrome moly unit:

Fixed the governor leak:

Rerouted some vacuum lines:

Mounted a catch can correctly (aka not letting boost pressure going inside the crank case 😅):

No picture but used my old catch can as my transmission catch can. Adjusted rear brakes so they weren’t dragging. Changed from TR6 to BRE7 spark plugs too.

Leak checked the intake side of the pressure system (found lots of leaks):

Went drag racing:

On gate (7 psi, VERY little timing):

Last waste gate hit I made was 13.7 @ 103 mph, so 1.5 second improvement and nearly 7 mph is pretty decent. The other passes I made that night I completely roasted the tires off the line with extra boost but it’s like a whole to new car again and need to figure out boost control all over again.

Basically that’s the slowest the car can go and I’m very happy with it. With a better 60’ on gate it’s an 11 second car on gate. On the street the car just destroys these drag radials. I guess I will buy drag radials in bulk 😅

Trans work well?

And welcome to the blow the tires off club. Too much timing on the hit is what I’m doing when I blow them off.
What was the timing at on the 1.7 60’ run?

This car looks really cool, looking basically stock, with its patina, but with the meats on the back.

You’ll be surprised how it launches at 13 psi at 3-6 degrees.

what was up with the boost controller?

Not too sure. Have to dig back into the logs. It was set on manual control so I'm guessing the wrong pmw duty cycle. Giving holley the wheel on the next one i think is the plan.
