1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Sedan LS Turbo Build

Aren't you running a stock cam?!
Not in the wagon. That's for sure.

Wagon says: potato potato potato potato potato potato

.226/.231
.610/.608
113 + 4
I bought the cam and was going to use it till I called BTR. They told me the cam is great for someone running a stock intake and a turbo.
I am going a ways beyond that so I am looking to get my money back out of it.
I have $225 into the cam right now.
What’s ‘a ways’? Turbo? If ‘yes’ to the turbo, then you’re cam is not going to hold you below 1200-1300hp.
That’s about the same cam as OP’s. One is going to be within 5% of the other if everything else is the same imo.

Run what you brung- it’ll be fine.

Already bought a custom cam. I guess I should rephrase what I said, I am planing on running the Holley Duel fuel intake like Northern regal is running and an S485 turbo.
So I had a cam built for that.

Or the 4.8 sitting in the corner... it's got that baby donkey dick cam going on.

It should be enough bump stick for the time being. I scaled everything up to 1000 whp capability; but now the turbo won’t be able to hit that 🤔

BTR Spec? He doesn't do huge lift on a cam that size?

Whats in the 4.8? I thought you had an LS6 or LS9??

The 5.3 in the car has a stock '01 LS6 cam. The 4.8 I am tinkering with has a 227/230 .605/.608 113+3 in it... which is pretty healthy for a little engine.

I have an LS9 in the TBSS and it is plenty good enough to make power. I am just teasing about "size".

Duration is going to make more power than lift in most cases past a certain lift point, boost easily makes up the difference.

Lol, you have so many motors, I lost track. My apologies sir.

Mike is spot on that mid 22_’s intake and 230 exhaust duration is a lot of cam in a 4.8. That is still a big cam in a 5.3 and is not small in a 6.0.

And I agree110% that duration and ICL and overlap are 5 times more important lift for anything with boost.
