Get those kids slightly more grown so you get 3-4 years of menial grunt labor for free assembling and disassembling.

My favorite is passing tasks to the wife because her smaller hand or thumbs can reach better....

You don't have thumbs?

You don't have thumbs?
Fat man thumbs that fumble a bit due to nerve damage/loss of sensation. Not like dexterous little lady thumbs.

Also a convenient excuse to get out of things I just don't want to do... like connecting the vent lines on the c10 tank and filler neck.

K&N oil and fuel filter are in the mail. I am going to drop the tank and stab a Walbro 450 in there because it's what I have on hand, and with the move going on I have no patience or extra money to fart around.
And you still have the luxury of a lift. I have a strange feeling. I'm jealous but not jealous. At least it isn't replacing the starter on the TBSS with a procharger.

Believe me the lift is a nice tool. But, I have been doing much of the work on the Camaro on the floor on my back. And I did the TBSS on the ground, with mosquitoes, outside, in the Summer heat. It is varying degrees of shittiness... and it's worse than a cocaine habit.

Updates later, I need to get the tank back in the car tonight so I can bring the Monte back into the garage.

How much of a PITA is it to drop the tank? On my 4th gen, getting the steel tank out was a 1 way ticket. I had to jam a prybar down the filler neck to distort it enough to get it out of the car. And that was after dropping the axle entirely.

Almost the exact same. It starts small with one thinking it can be done smoothly... until you realize how long that filler neck is and how the tank practically need to come it the PS of the car. Then the swearing. Especially when it has a quarter tank of gas in it.

The exhaust comes off - violently. The cross brace. The panhard bar. Heat shields. The shocks. The sway bar. Springs.

I ended up ratchet strapping the DS axle up and having Natasha push down on the PS wheel. In retrospect taking off the DS wheel would have helped with droop. That is not the look of success or a sense of accomplishment.

After getting the seemingly original pump out I bench tested it to ensure death. It kicked on. Tatiana heard bad words when I assumed I'd diagnosed it incorrectly. I took it to the tank full of gas to drain it - to my relief it stopped working after a few moments of pumping. But, now it was full of gas again. The hanger mods are the same as I did for the Monte to fit the thicc-boi Walbro in there. Delete the pulsator, open the feed line up and flare it, cut the base plate to size, use some Gates submersible hose, check for continuity and resistance on the OEM wiring.

And here's why the trap door mod doesn't work well in a 3rd Gen... those lines go on forever.

I started at 1630hrs and had the car all back together by around 2230hrs including a dinner break. Not bad for a newb. Oh and if you think a lift makes the difference I have news for you...

There is no dignity here for anyone.

And in a classic case of since I am in here anyway. Because the stock stuff never goes back on. I'll save doing the dual 2.5" over the axle stuff until the LS goes in. A single 3" should work well.

Back to work!

Over coffee the filters showed up. Hooray!

The HP-3002 is for an 90s LT1. Big 'un.

I have seen completely plugged fuel filter that we change and shortly after the fuel pump went. A lift does help if you have the big wide adapter plate for a high trans jack and the tank can go basically go straight up. In your case, not so much. Good to know about these cars, sounds like a lot of work.
