I remember when these things used to be 20-30 bucks. They are damn near triple that now with taxes. WTF.

Unfortunately, the rain isn't supposed to break for another couple of days. So we're waiting until then to install this and the torque arm bushing (assuming it's the same as an LS1 Camaro (more leftovers)).

The lady's mullet machine is back on the road and it's sounds like it has a little extra "party in the back" now. The increased vibrations from the exhaust and polyurethane bushings are pretty noticable... but the drone from the exhaust isn't too bad at highway speeds.

And I would definitely say this was causing the thump in the floor boards.

Topped it off with some Castrol Edge 5W-50 and it's good to go West.

I drove one of my guy's cars on the track to give him my impressions. I could only do about 3 laps and came back in. The shifter was bouncing around so bad I couldn't hit the 2-3 upshift without being very slow, careful, and deliberate. I told him his mount was shot and I was right. Completely torn, but I think his had metal framing so it could only go so far. I'm guessing her car was hard to nail a 2-3 shift leaving a corner?

It couldn't leave a stop light without problems.

I know there is a thread arguing the "advantages" of adding bigger pipes on a 305. So here's some interesting info about the RPO N10 dual catalytic converter exhaust on the 89+ F-bodies. It allegedly added 13% more power to the LB9 305 (205hp to 225hp). Go figure.

Still gutless.

Parts to do this properly aren't cheap either.

$225 for an NOS exhaust hanger?

$100 for a rusty shield?

$1000 for an NOS set of pipes:

Dafuq.

Here's what the factory version looks like:

Pretty nice actually.

Also interesting are the two different cams available that year for the lowly LB9 with the A4 vs. the LB9 with the M5 and the L89 tree-fiddy with the A4. Talk about peanut cams:

Sheesh.

Natasha took the car out today, and I think she enjoyed the added noise and attention. Also not having the car break down was a bonus. Either way I didn't get yelled at.

Also, I think I figured out what the car sounds like: a stock Hellcat. They don't sound all that good either. ;)

There's idiots asking thousands for stock hoods on thirdgen.org as well.

I think that price on the stock pipes is less reflective of the market than it is of the throw s number at the wall and wait for it to stick crowd.
