besides! i'm unsure if this "should" be in a build thread or not... that pic was taken yesterday morning at my pal's place in Black Creek. we were diagnosing a wobble in my new 383.

just finished up on a 3 day permit to have a shake-down run on 'er... wowee kapowee i dig this thing!!! its last iteration was in a 81 monte, and between the thrush welded mufflers, 3" true dual exhaust(crush bent-bleck!!!) to 2.5" crush bent(double bleck!) tail pipes, teeth rattling bone jarring... i decided that since my pal's 2+2 has dual rear exit 3" exhaust, that i"d try to fab my own up using mandrel bent pre-formed GMC tailpipes(walker), a Lordco supplied 3" x-pipe kit and 17957 VT's. at idle, i can hear the injectors whereas with the old "welded" mufflers, i couldn't hear myself think lol

Pardon me for not taking more pictures... up to this point to show and describe how much surgery is required to have a "tucked in" look, this is where I started to take pictures... when I could remember lol

That's nice work that your doing and the welding looks great....for my headers I opted to go with ball and socket so no gasket to blow

well ya know? my pal's 2+2 has ball and socket on it, and i sure like the look... and having made sparks fly from under-body appendages in the past... the most notable one being over the train tracks just outside of Cartier, ( i refuse to mention the speed i was traveling at btw ) i've since started running stiffer springs front and rear to avoid those situations. i have started making composite flange gaskets using off the shelf parts like copper gasket sandwiched between two uh... white gaskets(mr gasket?) and a glue-lam made of orange gasket sealer. they haven't blown out since doing them this way, and are somewhat re-usable as well...

While it is enjoyable to cruise nice roads without bumps, potholes or frost heaves... the tucked in look has advantages... so to gain about 3/4" more ground clearance, creative thinking must apply. And factory seat brace has to go, and make a better slim design.
