BUILD THREAD 86 GP 2+2~Blown 6.0

Put the factory prop valve on after work today and bled the brakes. It is not as good as the correct disk disk prop before it blew but not terrible. Brakes aren't autocross ready but fine for daily use.

I took the car to the track tonight. Once I figured out my routine and got a bit of heat in the tires I ran a 14.0 at 103mph kinda boogering up a shift. Did run a 107mph pass with a 2.7 60ft spinning bad.

After the 4th pass I would hit 3rd and 4th and wouldn't pick any mph up. Got to 3rd and it went to 6k rpm fast. went to 4th and went to rev limit again. 5th pass I smelt clutch. It also chatters the tires hard and spins (before the clutch toasted) in 2nd on my drag radials so I need some newer tires, they are like 5 years old and have ton of passes. Clutch was a stock used c5 so im probably 100hp over what it took factory at least.

So I need a clutch, tires, and probably a posi since I still have the gov lock.

AFR was good but I am maxing out my stock l67 injectors I have on it. I need some 60lbers. It was 110% DC but my AFR was solid 11-11.50 and staying in there so I wasn't too concerned.

But at least I know at that MPH and better shifting its a mid 12 car no problem with low timing.

Got the windshield replaced today. I can see clearly now the cracks are gone!

Going to clean it up this week and make it to carcraft in mpls on Sat night/Sunday.

Dropped the exhaust because I needed some fine tuning and it wasn't fitting right over the rear axles. Also I can't stand the monte rear bumper exits so i had a friend cut and reweld them to side BOP exit. Going to rework the mounts too!

Also pulled the trans to try to get a better clutch. Everything looks good it just needs an upgraded one. Had the trans out in about an hour.

So I have been getting stuff done! I got my clutch and found out the truck flywheel wouldn't work so I had to buy a new flywheel. It wasn't a cheap part but it was nice and got done what I wanted.

Put the trans back in and redid some exhaust so it clears a bit better, also looks way better dumping behind the wheels in the BOP location. It's not a damn monte carlo! Hhaha!

Also redid my fuel pressure regulator system from the corvette returnless setup to a boost referenced one. Turns out it flows way more through the return with this setup and it started leaking at the tank through the old return line. Looked at the tank and it had a small hole that was patched. Realized my pump is too small and loud since its external and bit the bullet and bought a GN in tank EFI setup. Should be here this week.

Finally got my video edited at the track last month. It's pretty garbage but you can hear the clutch slip in the top of third and all of 4th.

Everything is back together and the car is driveable again. Happy with the in tank, its nice and quiet like normal.

Got some tuning done again and car makes good power. Im at 105% injector DC even with my boost ref regulator. According to the interwebs 42lb injectors flow enough for 550hp and even though i try to deny that I am making that much it kinda makes sense.

Stock an lq4 makes ~300 and 10psi means add ~200 hp plus with boost.

So 500 before adding all the exhaust work.

Won't complain with that I guess!
