Haha what? I spose there is some internal limit so that translates to like 80% * 1.05 = 84% or something like that.

Anyways, that's awesome! Happy you got it all together and can enjoy your hard work!
 
Ive always assumed 100% DC is from top dead center exhaust stroke to bottom center intake stroke. I could be wrong but 105% means the injector is opening before the valve opens and is still spraying after the valve closes, or possibly from a stock cam.

I do know the DC is calculated from the milliseconds its open vs. how long whatever window is from intake valve opened to close but the cam duration also affects that. Not sure if at 105% the injector is actually opening 105% or if its just commanded but the injector will only ever hit 100%.

I think a lot of people just put bigger injectors in and not question it, I've never seen good writeup or data on it.

I guess I may be wrong as I am not sure about the convention with respect to fuel injection.

In MPFI, I thought fuel was sprayed throughout the whole 4 stroke cycle as you don't have precise cam and crank timing sensors like in DI.

You're probably right. I should quit clogging up your build thread and go read for myself how it works. Especially since I'll likely swap in an LS soon.
 
Put the 295/50/16 dr's on tonight. Needed a little rework on my drivers tailpipe and a slight dent in the rear side of the frame behind the tire that rubbed a bit on turns. Otherwise no fender lip roll or anything.

This whole zr2 4th gen wheel stuff works good!

Finally got my video edited at the track last month. It's pretty garbage but you can hear the clutch slip in the top of third and all of 4th.

I know that feeling! Nothing worse than going through the gears and the tach and speedo start diverging (tach goes up, speedo doesn't)
 
Everything is back together and the car is driveable again. Happy with the in tank, its nice and quiet like normal.

Got some tuning done again and car makes good power. Im at 105% injector DC even with my boost ref regulator. According to the interwebs 42lb injectors flow enough for 550hp and even though i try to deny that I am making that much it kinda makes sense.

Stock an lq4 makes ~300 and 10psi means add ~200 hp plus with boost.

So 500 before adding all the exhaust work.

Won't complain with that I guess!

I ran into the same "problem" with the 60s in our TBSS - on E30 with propane injection supplementing the injectors we were at 99% DC on the 11.96 @ 116mph run - that calculated out to +/-650hp for 5200+lbs. Too much power potential is a tough problem to have.
 
Well I made it to the track today and ran 12.90 at 108mph. 1.9ish 60ft. I got 60lb injectors in Friday so my fueling is under control again. Didn't get to the track early enough on Friday to run at their "street" event.

I went on bracket day today (for the first time ever) and I only ran twice. Got stuck between elimination points rounds stuff. I kinda see why people make fun of bracket racing now. There for 3.5 hrs and they went through the rounds twice under test and tune. Just not my thing.

Anyways. Ran the 1st pass at 12.90, missed 3rd and soft launch.

2nd pass lunched at 3500rpm or so and just blew the tires off. Also didn't get a time slip? Not sure what happend. So I didn't get much testing done but I know its mostly OK. Also need to roll my fender lip just a bit, its rubbing slightly on the fender with the 295/50/16's. Its a big tire for sure!

Mostly just need to figure out what the car likes for a launch and tune my driving/shifting skills. Injectors are at 80% and makes 12psi, so it should be in the 550 range but doesnt seem to be moving like it should. Mostly driver mods is what I need 🙂

Swapped the ralleys back on the front. I'm doing a 3 track drag weekend with the car next weekend so thought I would loose some rolling resistance. Also mix it up a bit.

And I painted my trailer hitch to go back on. Need to haul my drag radials around somehow.

And I got harassed at the track for not having a driveshaft safety loop so I drew one up and a friend is making one. There are none available in the set back t56/4l80e style that clear an X pipe exhaust so gotta build it!
