Just went to check on cool white 5700k and they are out of stock 😑

Yeah I thought about getting the 5700k ones but kinda wanted to keep the car looking kinda stock, and the white brites really stand out on older stuff in my opinion. I didn't even check, bummer they are out.

Back to the diddly squat updates?

We're getting snomagedon (like 6 inches and some wind, down from the original forecast of 24") so took the opportunity to finish the LCA install and welded the last of the bracing.

I need to get a new brake hose since I think the one in the is OEM and I'll get the brakes bled, tires on and back in the ground.

Looking almost racecar ish!!

You got a heater in the garage or gut it out like a man?
Music Video Fire GIF by Polyvinyl Records

I've got a natural gas ceiling mounted heater.

Best garage investment I've made. I spent the first 10 years of my garage hotrodding life with a knipco torpedo heater getting high in CO fumes and a couple years in between with little electric heaters and underpowered gas ones, but once you feel the ability to get the garage up to 55 at least it's hard to go back.

I ordered all new brake hoses last Friday as I decided if I'm going 125mph I should have new parts vs. OEM 20-35yr old stuff.

But made a mistake and selected DHL as a carrier and even though rock auto shipped the stuff Saturday AM they have been sitting at a DHL warehouse since and aren't scheduled to get here until the 7th. Ugh.

Not that I need the car but it would be nice to make progress.

So I got fed up and decided to install the Holley retro bright headlights I picked up in clearance last month.

They are much brighter than the halogens. I'll see what they look like when it's outside once the snow goes away.....

Snow has melted
Potholes have reproduced like rabbits this winter
Roads are still gravely and have broken bumpers and headlight pieces on them everywhere from the hellacious winter we had

But I took the car out for a short cruise last night for the first time since November. Charged the battery, primed the fuel pump and it started without issue.

The brakes are a bit squishy, I bled them when I swapped the hoses this winter, but I need to take another swing at it. The brakes are OK but not 130mph drag strip slow down good.

Dog is happy she can sniff the air again.

I think your dog was confirming that message on the mirror ;)

Well the baby made her appearance last Thursday and I've been home and spent the last week caring for my wife and the youth. Taking care of my wife has been the bigger effort as she has been recovering. Everyone is home and healthy so good news there.

Anyway took the car for a drive a few days ago and the drivers window was picky to roll down and then wouldn't roll up. I thought maybe the passenger window was part of the issue as it has never rolled down with the passenger switch, only the drivers side.

Snuck out to the garage tonight and poked at the wiring for a while and determined the drivers side switch is actually the problem. It's not providing a reliable group for the tracer that runs back to the drivers door. That one took my mind for a bender.

I think something in the switch also broke loose causing the drivers window to not work.

Typical dorman sheit. Anyone know the OEM GM number for the drivers switch or a good replacement brand? No dorman...
