With all those intricate curves are you using a block to sand or just paper?
I'm actually using one of these 3M flexible sanding pads for as much as I can.

RKTPWRD recommended it a couple years back, and I've been using one since. It really helps to block the larger areas and contour into the curves at the same time. For the areas it won't work on, I'm carefully doing it with just paper and not trying to "groove" the material with my fingers. I've had to learn the feel and touch per se, but once you learn how the panel or material reacts to the paper it makes it easier.
I see why 3M sandpaper is higher priced, it really does make a difference from the cheaper alternatives. For a production body shop doing insurance repairs...less expensive paper will work just fine due to the sheer amount they go through.

with some of the cheaper grades of paper the grit rating is off so you might be sanding with something a little more on the coarser side of things.it's not a really big deal until your in the four digit grit territory.I've been using norton and 3m abet twenty years and are money well spent over the alternatives out there.

Agreed! I like Norton Abrasives, and will use them without thought. I used to sell alot of their stuff in my Fastenal days, and never had any complaints about quality.

The sanding pad I got from Oreilly, they had it in stock. Honestly, I usually buy my 3M auto grade sandpaper from Walmart. It's typically cheaper there, comes in small packs with 5 thin sheets that fit sanding blocks perfect. Otherwise I get it from Gipe Auto Color which is where I usually buy paint from.
 
Those wheel wells look really nice, im going to have to keep that in mind when i go to do mine. Its the details that really make or break a build. I admit it seems that i put a lot of effort into a build but it never quite turns out as nice as i would hope. Probably from overlooking some of those little details. Nice job!
 
Been sanding away on the driver side wheelwell. Finished up sanding the bodywork earlier, and with a little daylight left I wiped it down with wax and grease remover after cleaning prior. Noticed I didn't have much high build primer left, but gave it a shot anyways. Managed to get one thin coat on and ran outta paint dangit! I'll pickup another can and try to finish priming tomorrow if time permits. Then back to sanding from 220 to 600.View attachment 124136

So my set of rear seatbelts arrived today from The Parts Place. They had the best price hands down...$150 to my door. I picked up a roll of roof flashing insulation on the way home since I'm out of Boom Mat and don't need a whole box. Trimmed a couple pieces for around the seatbelt mounting areas, chased the threads, put some RTV on the bolts to seal them up, and done! Back to sanding and such, but trying to jump back and forth on interior as time permits. Hoping to get the headliner/visors redone soon so I can install them and the trim.
