Next up was to address the fresh air vent from the valve cover to the intake tube. In being stealthy I relocated the IAT sensor and barb fitting to the underside to keep the intake cleaner looking.
My dilemma was to have a removable line in the event the intake tube needs to come apart just as a factory setup would have. I pondered about it, then went and looked at my Mazda. It has a male/female quick connect setup which gave me an AHA moment!!! I started down the rabbit hole until I came across the solution.
These are called Bundy fittings. They're typically used in nylon fuel lines to provide a removable access while providing a double O ring seal....
I ordered them up, then earlier I carefully measured the vent hose, attached the fittings and assembled the hose. Works like a charm, is tucked away and looks factory, exactly what I was after. It's fun thinking outside the box!
