Yep, the float in the carb could be hanging open due to debris in the needle and seat. Remember, a carb works like a toilet. it fills to a certain level then stops automatically, if the level is too high, it will keep filling forever.

Hi guys!!
Today I withdrew the starter to test it, it engages but no spin... I tried to hit it with a hammer but no results!
The problem is there is not this part here in tahiti! And no planes to deliver an order on rockauto..
Do you think I could repair it ?

As long as the brushes haven't dug into armature, it should be rebuildable. If you can get a chevy starter of the same size, you can swap the rear housing and drive gear. Do they have any sbc mini starters in stock on the Island? The ones with the straight bolt pattern work on the Olds V8, have used them a couple of times.

expect 5 extra horsepower by using Chevrolet starter parts 😛

have you bypassed the solenoid to test the motor?

Sorry you bent your ride.
Before you spend money on new parts, be sure to check your firewall to make sure you didn't bend anything that the doors, hood and fenders connect to. It looks like whatever you hit was higher than the bumper. You may have shifted the sheet metal back towards the passenger compartment. If that happened, you may not be able to hang the new parts correctly. Look for buckles or wrinkles in the firewall, hood hinges, around the door hinges, etc.. Good luck!!!

Ok thanks I will check that but seems ok for firewall and doors!

I bypassed the solenoid, at first it didnt work, but I tap on the motor at the same time and now the motor spin!!
But when I connect solenoid it still only engages, no spin!
So what can it be ?
