The cam we would recommend is .510/.522 lift 227/233 duration on a 110 lobe separation. Cost is 239.99 plus shipping. They recommend having a good torque converter too. Does this sound better than what I have?

The Performer RPM is:
Duration @ .050 Intake: 224 degrees • Duration @ .050 Exhaust: 234 degrees • Lift @ Valve Intake: .496” • Lift @ Valve Exhaust: .520” • Lobe Separation: 112 Degrees • Intake Centerline: 107 Degrees • Idle Vacuum @ 1000 RPM’s: 12”
So, you maybe better keeping what you have- not much difference. I guess you need to work on the tune. Where is your timing set?

To be honest I don't know the initial timing. Someone from this forum last year recommended 36 at 3k rpm. So I brought it somewhere to do that. Receipt Says adjusted ignition to 36 degrees total advanced

How much did that cost?

74 dollars. But they had to re-adjust the distributor. I took it out the motor to rebuild it and when I put it back, it was slightly off....

If you don't have a way to check it I would just ask them they probably know what the initial setting is.
