Here you go Jesse.

Well , I went today anyway.

Took my generator and some 500w utility lights to warm the oil pan and rear.

I made 3 changes since the last time out:

1) Stepped up one jet size for compensate for the cold air

2) Installed QA1 front shocks to help with the tires from unloading

3) Last was to install the $20 swaybar to control the "Gbody twist"

Well it (they) worked.

Old best 60' 1.46 new 1.44
Old best ET 10.27 new 10.00
Old best MPH 130.49 new 130.92

Oh, my guesss on weight was pretty close 3300#, it scaled at 3250#

I have all winter to find a bar that is a better fit.

Can't wait until spring and the first 9.

I can't post the picture direct, something about a guy trying to make a living.

My goal with the bar was to make the launch less exciting if it picked up at all , that was bonus.

Page 1 1.45 60'
Page 8 Transbrake spun
Page 16 Starting burnout
Page 18 Felt real good no time slip
Page 20 1.44 60'
Page 30 1.47 60'

Page 9 was some real good driving by one Buick to miss another Buick

great day at the drags shotgun, i know you had to be excited about the 10.00 time!!! so close and so far, i know you'll hit it next year :D
just how cold was it ? every one in the pics was wearing heavy coats!

do you think it was the up jetting that helped with the time? or the shocks?
from the pics it looks like the car is launching pretty much flat and both wheels up,you dog!!!!

have you ever had a car cross over on you? those guys must of had a underwear moment
so no more racing till spring? we race here every wednesday night all year around, the low is supposed to be 58 degrees so i might go, i haven't put the rear shocks on or adjusted my bars yet, maybe tomorrow.

shotgun, what engine temp do you run your car at? i'am going to put my 160 degree thermostat in and take my fan clutch off for the winter, maybe i'll get a little more out of the motor...

wow 10.00 flat!!!! jesse

The average temp was 37 w/o the wind chill!!!!

Had to chip ice off the ramps to load the car.

The shocks fixed the pop up issue. The car would pop up and go right back down before. Now it goes up and stays up, settling as it goes down the track.

My custom (sounds better then homemade) swaybar all but eliminated the "Gbody twist".

The jetting was more to keep it from going lean, I run on the lean side.
It only picked up 1/2 a mph, so I don't think I was making much more H.P.

I think it was a little of everything, what's the old addage about the "total combo"?

It leaves so nice now,the driver can start working on launch and shift rpm.

Mid track numbers , low 6.30s 108 mph , shows should be able to click a 9.

I have skated close to the other lane, but never crossed over.

Did have some idiot in a Rustang almost sideswipe me at the end of the track.

Drag Race 101, faster car has the right of way.

Your front end is good. It's not until it goes up too much until you have to limit it.

Add some air to those back tires.

What are you planning in setting the front shocks at?

I would go close to full loose and if the back tires break loose after launch, tighten them untill it stops.

I was also told to move 2 or 3 setting at a time, then fine tune from there.

If you do that again, it's right to bed with no dinner!!

They look low to me, but that not a prepped track.

Have someone check the marks, better yet take pictures.

Good luck tonight!
