Re: Hydraulic clutch set up. Wish me luck.

The bearing retainer isn't big or heavy so the mailing costs shouldn't be much. One of the casings I have is damaged so I have an extra bearing retainer so if you want I can send it to you to see if it fits. I'm not asking any money for it....

That gets a "thumbs up" right there ^^^

When my friend mounted up his his Tremec he had to use the AN 90 deg fitting to a braided line and mounted the resevior on the firewall. He did the same thing for his oil pressure sending unit. Good luck !

Re: Hydraulic clutch set up. Wish me luck.

Hello all, sorry for the sudden drop off, but i had to put a stop on the car due to my 11 year old graduating from 5th grade.(when did that become such a big deal?) Anyhow, I bought a new stock T/O bearing and in the process of bleeding. Work has kept me from finishing things. Hopefully this weekend I get to row through some gears

Re: Hydraulic clutch set up. Wish me luck.

is the part that the throw out bearing is bolted to part of the bellhousing or the bearing retainer. I can't tell by the picture

Re: Hydraulic clutch set up. Wish me luck.

Another failed part. The NEW clutch master cylinder wouldn't pressurize!! :wtf: Back to the store! While I was under the dash , I decided to make the clutch pedal stronger by welding another piece on it.

Re: Hydraulic clutch set up. Wish me luck.

Ok i get the the new starter in after loosening up the exhaust, crank it up, it fires on the second try, then I hear a loud screech. It goes away, sounded like the belt at first, but it came back every time i blipped the throttle. then I put my hand on the shifter and it was coming from the T-5! I shut it down, went through the gears and all sounded and felt ok. The clutch was working fine, but now when i started the car back up, it felt like i sheared the input shaft!! the clutch disc and the transmission aren't connected anymore. The shifter moves as if the car wasn't running. I didn't hear a snap or anything too alarming, just a screeching noise. I got out and to my surprise the ground was wet with anti freeze!!!? Now i'm really puzzled. My thoughts were that i could have knocked out a freeze plug when installing the starter. I have no clue to why either the disc teeth sheared or the input shaft sheared. Maybe the clutch got wet? But would that make the disc feel like its not there?
Well another day of transmission removal is in my future. Im frustrated enough to think of putting another 200R4 in and waiting until i take the car off the road to put a T-5 back in. 😢

Re: Hydraulic clutch set up. Wish me luck.

how much clearance did you have between the throw out bearing and your pressure plate? It could be you overextended the movement on the throw out bearing, it came apart and it's jamming the pressure plate

Hmm, But then i wouldn't have full pedal feel. The hydraulics feel firm throughout it's travel. If it were stuck wouldn't it go to the floor or have some kind of slack you can feel?
And when the engine is running, there is no trans feel. Like no connection to the clutch at all. It's boggling my mind trying to figure it out. All I can muster is Broken input shaft in some way, or the clutch disc failed in some way.

As long as the system isn't leaking you'll feel pressure on the pedal. I have broken a few parts on a T5 but never the input shaft. Can you see anything thru the opening in the bellhousing
