Why would they put a 4l60 between a 383 and a 9 inch?

so a stock 4l80? a 6l80 would be a little more along the lines of the rest of the build...A computer-controlled, overdrive trans capable of handling the SBC's power
Some people on this wonderful site are starting to sound like the other muscle car snobs. Junkyards theses days have been purged of the majority of the older makes and models, so buying new aftermarket stuff is pretty much a requirement to stay roadworthy . Either you buy something new with a warranty and be judged for spending the cash that you worked for, or you jerry-rig something to make it work and be judged for the shoddy craftsmanship. Can we just be glad that G-bodies are finally garnering attention from the major aftermarket companies?
The 4L60E is strong enough for the SBC that they're using in the build, and cheaper than a 4L80E or 6L80E.
so a stock 4l80? a 6l80 would be a little more along the lines of the rest of the build...
considering the 4l60 cant even stand up to a stock ls1 in a 4th gen fbody. Trucks eat them all the time with 4.8/5.3's...
That is some funny right there. After they spent five digits on the rest of the build., More likely they got it from one of their suppliers on the cheap.
I guess I can sound like a snob. And i just don't understand. As above, I guess I am glad someone buys the stuff. Just have em "stay off my lawn".😀
You won't like the attention when the prices keep climbing....
I'm confused by the aftermarket support. About the only things you can't get are certain body patches and trim items. I think the current product selection is pretty darned good.If it means more aftermarket support, yes I will. It also means mine should be worth more down the road and everyone else's car too. I look to these becoming just as popular as the A-bodies, just like every generation of cars before, it's inevitable. Only thing is Cash for Clunkers depleted a lot of them and others.
