BUILD THREAD Project long time coming

Are you familiar with the "saved search" on eBay? That might help.

I've enjoyed some nice wins from the saved search. The NOS 77-78 only Camaro delay wiper switch for my brother's car, for under $50 shipped was probably the best. Seller didn't know what they had.

Well I haven't touched the car in months. I have several things that need attention before I can use it not only this summer, but expect to make it to LS Fest East in September.
First issue is the starter. When I swapped to the LS I bought a new starter and alternator from DB electrical. Both have failed. Out of warranty of course. I replaced the alternator last year. The starter worked fine when the engine was cold, but had the typical slow crank when hot. So I've been chasing that figuring it couldn't be the new starter. Finally gave up and bought a new Remy starter at my local AC Delco distributor. Figured that would be an easy bolt in, quick fix. It definitely fixed the hot crank issue, BUT.... also would grind while cranking. Evidently it was a touch closer to the flywheel and needed to be spaced away, like a SBC.
Fast forward a month or two, I finally have some time to work on it. I managed to drop one of the shims into the bellhousing. FML So out comes the transmission so I retrieve the shim.

Just finished that up. One thing off the list.
While under the car, I noticed my right front caliper leaking brake fluid from the crossover line. My new Z06 calipers... can anyone make stuff that isn't broken out of the box anymore? Damn
I tightened the fittings, gotta run and grab some brake clean, hope the leak is fixed, and bleed the system yet again. 😳

Waiting for a friend to help me bleed the brakes. Decided to install one of the items I've had kicking around for a bit.
I've been concerned about it being stolen when I go to LS Fest East this September. Having heard horror stories from other car shows of people having their entire truck, trailer, and car stolen out of a hotel parking lot I'm trying to make it as hard as possible for them. Figure if they can't steer it, they at least can't drive it.

Glad to see you back on the car. Consider one of these. Inexpensive and you'll never need help bleeding again. Makes flushing the system a snap. Now that I have one, I'll never be without one again.....

I use one of these.

Just bled my Camaro's brakes not 10 minutes ago with it. Myself.
We have one. It's OK for modern master cylinders like my GMT900 with a screw on plastic top. I don't like that the master cylinder is completely full when you are done. On cars like my brother's 78 Z28 that has the old style cast iron master cylinder with metal top, it's too full and when you remove the adapter, it spills out the back. I think the vacuum style is far superior, and was less expensive.

I never put the fluid in the bleeder, seems like a good way to get air in the system. I've used both myself.
