Yeah, most everything is going to be fused to prevent that. Send it back.

Sorry to hear about the setback Zach. All you can do is make sure none of the wires you connected to the Sniper have a dead short to ground. If the problem isn't on your end, then there is a dead short to ground in their throttle body. I suppose you could check it with a multimeter as well.

I am almost suretin it is on Holley side. The only thing I could have done is. I used the old HEI feed wire for my 12 volt switched wire for the Sniper. The ignition wire could have too much amperage, but that wire did not melt it was after that. I want to cut the harness and plug open and find the problem, but I can't because of warranty.

Well I sent the Sniper back to the Holley factory to get fixed. Now it will probably be a waiting game till I get it back. I have been doing odd ends lately, but waited to post anything. So here is some of the things I have been working on. First I had a factory intercooled up pipe. The problem was the end of the pipe was 2 1/2 and the carb hat is 4 inch. The only reduser I could find went 4 to 3 inch. I had some 3 inch exhaust tubing laying around, so I cut a chunk of it. I put relief cuts in the end, hammered the end into a taper, and welded it up. I think it turned out pretty good.

Next I took a throttle bracket of my parts car.

The problem I found was my 350 turbo trany has a kickdown cable like a 200r4. Never seen that before. O and yes it is a 350 turbo. So the normal location kickdown cable brackets are in the wrong place. I bought an adjustable one from the parts store, but it would not work either. So I built one out of the two.

It now has an adjustable kickdown mount, and it looks factory. Hopefully it will work with a 200r4 if I ever go that route. I bought a new fuel tank and sending unit from Rockauto. There packaging made me laugh.

I ordered a bunch of fitting and stuff to plumb the fuel system. Should be here by the end of the week. I dropped the old fuel tank and found a surprise. The build sheet!

So now I have the window sticker, build sheet, and all the factory paper work for a car that is not worth any thing. Pretty cool though. That's it for now.

The Fedex man showed up yesterday with a box of parts.

Tonight I put my fuel pump and sending unit together.

I am using a Aeromotive 340 pump. All my fuel system will be E85 compatible when I am done, so it will be ready if I choose to go that route. I also decided to run a nother fuel line rather than use my steel vent line. One reason is, it has never had fuel in it. Might leak. A nother reason is, I am running a bigger pump than I need and it needs a lot of flow. I also picked up two manual boost controllers for 15 bucks shipped to me. Good deal. The one is normally 80 bucks new and the other one is 40 bucks new. I am going to plumb the better one in. My thinking is, it will make creeping up on the boost easier than adjusting my waistgate rod all the time. That's it for now.

Good news! When I got home Friday there was a box waiting for me. I thought it was my fuel hose I ordered. When I opened the box up I found my Super Sniper! The Holley factory never emailed me on what was wrong or that they shipped it back to me. It was a pleasant surprise. There was a paper in the box that said ECU replaced because of pinched wire internal in the unit. I was write it was a factory ****up. So I put it all back on. It was pretty easy because they gave me all the original harness back. All I had to do was replace the butt connectors I cut. Powered it up to night and it did not go up in smoke! I put my throttle bracket on and found I must have missed measured the throttle cable has too much slack in it. No biggy though. As for my fuel hose, some how it got put on the wrong truck. It was in Chicago and should have went to Fort Dodge, but it ended up in Ohio. Will not be long now and it should be running. Here is a picture of my up pipe and carb hat mocked up. I like the way it looks with the black tubes and polished car hat and TBI. Not quite the look I was planning on, but I like it. What do you guys think?

Kind of hard to see what it really looks like in the picture. My spot light changes the contrast in the picture.
