I am champion.... I am the champion.... I am the champion of the world! I bought a new timing light tonight. I checked my static timing and it was way off. Set that up right and had to adjust idle a little bit. I now have a lot more vacuum too. Once I had the engine running pretty good I took it for a spin. Adjusting the kick down cable did nothing. I then popped off the governor cover off the transmission. On my car you can not pull the governor all the way out with out lowering the transmission. I cleaned it the best I could and put it back together. I test drove the car again. No luck, car still would not shift. I took the vacuum line off for the transmission and plugged it. It shifts good now! I am guessing the lack of vacuum and the boost is messing with the shift actuator. And as for the TV cable. GM must have used that cable for the kick down for adjustability. It was dark and I do not have the headlights back in yet, so I ran it up and down the gravel road. Holly shitt this thing has some nuts now! I think I doubled the horsepower. It gets up and goes. I can't wait to take it out on the hiway.

This summer me and you should race at eddyville lol.
Maybe your modulator was bad? I mean it was th350 with a turbo'd engine from the factory, one would think it would still work. You also have the wrong type of cable. Most parts stores/websites list the black nubbed cable and the slotted cable as working on either transmission, and in my experience just about every other TH350 vehicle I've worked on had the wrong type cable and made it shift weird. Maybe the p/o or past mechanic installed the wrong type?
It's a downshift/detent/kickdown cable, not a TV/throttle valve cable. It's not meant to constantly be 1:1 with throttle movement. You need the slotted cable that floats on the stud until you mash it to downshift. Mine works great that way. And you have that fancy fyool injeckshun so you dont got no air door tension to dick with either. Mash it n go. Laying the cable aside won't hurt a thing, you'll just have to downshift manually, be careful though lol. Going into 1st at 45mph may make ya poo a little.

Congrats!

All I can say is the hell with the factory draw though crap! I took Friday off. Rerouted some wiring. Changed my serpentine belt to a little longer one. Put the front header panel back together. Washed the car and went to cruise night at Jamar's. I made it there and back with out any problems. About 70 miles or so. The car is kind of load with only a 3'', 3 ' down pipe.

There probably was around fifty cars there. I had the only G Body. Usually there are a few, but not this time. I got a lot of good feedback. Quiet a few people would stand in front of the car and stair at the engine for long periods of time. Several people wanted to know were I got the kit from. One guy told me he did not want to line up with me at a stop light with his 427 Chevell, because he would be embarrassed to be beet by a six cylinder.

Awesome! Took some figuring out time but it came together decently fast!

Going to make it to the goodguys show in DSM in a month? They let in post 73 stuff so I was planning to bring the 2+2 and make them regret their decision.

The EFI seems to work well? Spools up good? Deals with boost fine?

Ok as for how the car runs. It is a hole lot more fun to drive now. I need to do some more tuning yet. The only real problem I have had is the power steering reservoir leaks out the cap were I drilled a hole for a breather. Going to have to change that a little bit. I think I need a stall converter or maybe a little smaller turbo. When you get on it from a stop it is doggie. Once you are moving and you punch it, it comes alive. Especially if you are going down the road about 55 and you punch it. The boost comes up about 10 psi it sets you back in your seat and with in seconds you are going 90. Awesome feeling. The engine runs pig rich at full throttle, and the engine starts to break up anything over 10 psi of boost. I leaned up my AFR a little bit and that helped some. Still goes 10:1 AFR at half throttle when the boost comes on. I think I might have too much timing also on the top end. So far no knock on the gauge or that I have heard. I need to check my gauge again and make sure it is working. Some of the issues could be electrical. I need to buy a higher amp alternator. The one I have is not keeping up very good. Probably messing with the fuel pump and making the fuel pressure wacky. So my plan is to replace the alternator, charge the A/C, play with the timing, and couble the exhaust together. So far I am happy with it!

Here are some pictures of other cars from the show that I liked.

They did a nice job making the new interior fit.

This is my favorite color on a car! Love that color!

Thank you. The Good Guys shows are too expensive to show or go to. Cost my dad 300 bucks a year plus entry fees to tell people he was a Good Guy! I think the Holley Super Sniper would work better for a bigger engine on low amount of boost better. So far at higher throttle with boost it goes pig rich instead of lean like I would expect. I have a lot of tweaking to do yet, but for just getting it together with mixed matched parts I am happy with it. It still is no Grand National, but very fun to drive!
