Is the fan, water pump, and harmonic balancer the only things I remove to get to the timing chain cover ?

I wouldnt go for a fractional size larger. If the hole is shot I would go up the next larger size in metric. This way it might not be a huge size difference. Just a thought.
True, lets try and keep things simple here lmao.

You got a couple of options.

Add RTV to the area, then start it up, see if it leaks.

Or, extract the bolt as the other members say. If this was my only ride, I would try it anyway. If you got time, then do it all properly.

Worst come to worse, is you have to top off oil. Up to you.
Definitely going to "try it anyway" and your totally right, worse comes to worse, retry...

Great, I just cleaned the area with engine degreaser and a steel wire brush, wiped everything dry...
If you haven't applied the RTV yet you might want to follow it up with acetone, brake cleaner or carb cleaner. I have always had a film left over after using degreaser. Spend the extra ten minutes now getting that area surgically clean and it will exponentially increase your chance of success.

Ok, so I know the engine will start and run for a couple of minutes without the serpentine belt and pulleys attached like what I have now...

I'm sure the harmonic balancer will need to be installed to avoid crankshaft damage if the engine is going to run.

Should the radiator hoses be connected or it doesn't matter because the water pump won't be attached ?

(Running the engine from here to check for leaks, without attaching everything and having to take it all back down if it does leak... Good opportunity to see the timing setting play out too.)
