Bought the proper alternator bracket so the large case alternator fits under the hood...couldn't find the part used with alot of the wrecking yards still closed so I got ordered it from RockAuto.....$112 to the door is a price I can live with....

Had these unique little beauties show up on the doorstep today. They’re Chevy small block size and bolt pattern, yet they have raised “Oldsmobile” block letters cast into them. I’ve never seen a set quite like them. Many thanks to Turna for turning me on to them.

Look for them to make their way onto Project Olds Cool after adding in some breather and PCV holes and a little customizing.

I’m afraid you may have trouble with that mount, I’m running a CS130 on mine and that mount put that sucker as high as my air cleaner! But that’s if that mount puts the alt on the driver’s side. A later blazer/s10/c-k1500 Mount with the funky power steering pump tank and the alt on the passenger side moved the alternator to the middle of my carb in height.

I didn’t so much buy as got given an Olds V8 radiator plate. Always make friends with your u-pull-it counter man.

Those will look cool. Time for more filling pinholes and sanding!

Which is exactly why I need to use them!
I can feel Fleming442 gnashing his teeth from here!
🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Jared. All joking aside, I actually do think they’ll be pretty cool on the car. Especially if I can do them up right. Try and make them look like they might’ve been a rare factory option or something.

I don’t think I’m gonna fill the pinholes and get into a bunch of sanding etc again, I’m thinking more just bead blast them real well, clean them up, paint and send them. But that could change too, I guess we’ll see.

If it was me, I would start by sanding the letters down even with the rest of the valve cover. I think that would look good.😎

the mount is on the driver's side and I will not have any issues mounting AD244. The CS130 is a small case so I don't know what bracket you are using, I ran a CS130 with no issues with the fit.

this is the style I am using now that you find on trucks and you will notice how high the alternator sits. The camaro style sits on an angle which positions the alternator lower.
