Are your fans working correctly? Push or pull?

Pull fans, i had cheaped out and bout a ebay setup with dual fans and shroud for $150 a couple of years ago. well finally got the car to a point where i could install it and it just cant cool the engine down. talked to a couple buddies that also run big blocks and the recommended the 1inch tubes and said that helped them a lot when they had the same issue. The cheap radiator was a china knockoff 3 row and i'm pretty sure the tubes are 1/2' or less in it.

Gotcha. I have a Northern from Scummit that, I believe, are 1" tubes. I have '90's Grand Am V6 fans on it, and it never goes over 190 in mid-summer stop-n-go traffic.

Nice! i'll definitely have to keep that in mind. with the cheap fans that were on it, it would creep up to 205-210 and with the spal fans its dropped it to about 200 give or take so i'm hoping the radiator will also help. going to see about getting a lower temp fan switch too mine currently doesnt kick on till atleast 185

Today I got for my SS in preparation for the LY6/4L80 swap a 1 tom engine hoist, a 1 ton engine stand. They are from Harbor Freight but I got both for $190! Ordered from Summit Racing - Level 1 SUM-8714 Stage 4 Vortec Truck Swap Cam and Beehive spring kit: 226/230 112 +4, .545/.545 Lift, 3-bolt. Trick Flow VVT delete combo. Vision Rally 15x8 and 15x10 and new lug nuts. A pair of Gabriel load carrier rear shocks. I tried to order my torque converter but the guy who who builds them to match my build wasn't there and will call me Monday. Unless The Man changes something I'm getting a PATC Full Size HD Lock-up @ 2800 stall which is what The Summit cam recommends. Next paycheck I'm getting my Hooker Holly LS swap kit and rear control arms. Pulling the 6.0 out of the truck on Monday! WhooHoo!

I did 3.66 in the woods on the bike, then hit the ATM before I headed to the junkyard. As I was leaving the parking lot, I spied a hot, young blonde chick having some car trouble. I put the truck in a spot, and proceeded to rescue the damsel in distress. She had dropped a lit cig in the cowl of her Camry, and was scared it would blow up! LOL! I assured her it wasn't going to blow up, popped the hood, retrieved her smoke, and flipped her driver side wiper over that she had gotten upside down somehow. Then, off to the junkyard and found a DBW 3800 Camaro. I was elated to find that someone had already cut the floor for the fuel pump!

Sadly, the stuff I needed was to the left, so the precut floor did me no favors. There is a unibody frame rail in the way. So, I commenced to dropping the tank. I mangled the sheet metal where the strap T pins were, popped them out, dropped the panhard bar, undid the fill, and got it out. EVAP system secured.

Then, across the isle were a bunch of Jamaicans working on a Park Avenue, and I needed some ignition coils. After a brief exchange, I found that they were getting the trans. I commended them on their efforts, and grabbed 2 coil packs off the supercharged 3800. $21.68 later, I was leaving only to find a Craftsman 5/8 wrench lying in the junkyard driveway on the way out.
