Engine build via EBay, 20 years ago? Lots of NOS shown for that survivor.

RockAuto helped me clean out one of the old-school parts houses of NOS 1956 GM truck suspension parts, so that I can convert a 1952 torque tube chassis to a 1956 open driveline.

Rear disc swap parts/hardware + 4 calipers/abutment brackets/rotors/hoses already pulled from service for a 6p/4p '01 T/A upgrade.

I picked up that LS1 F/R brake set-up on Sun afternoon. Made the deal w/the guy Wed & was heading out to pick them up when I got the call his mom had to be taken to the hospital so that delayed things until he could divert his focus to less important stuff. In the interim, I went to the Good Guys Ft. Worth TX show over the weekend & while I was out that far decided to return some items to Summit Racing & pick-up some stuff w/the store credit. Came home w/these. Not the look I wanted for the car but I also don't want to spend $4k on vintage looking wheels that will clear these brakes (w/o using spacers) & tuck within the wheel-well vs most off the shelf built wheels. Surprisingly light. Well, lighter than expected for sure.

The spindle test fit was to verify the Tall BJ/g-body upper a-arm would play nice w/the back-spacing. Clears fine. Since I had things laid out to validate the fit, I grabbed the C6 Z51 set-up to make sure it cleared that caliper as well. All good. I'll probably use these for a while & then swap to something higher-end on down the road.

Bought a new Dayco 71625 upper rad hose from Rockauto. The 85-88 version. Shipping cost more than the part.

$1.69. Didn't feel like messing with a code since I'd only save like 8 cents.

WTH. Just another repro hose coming up. 🙂

Going to put it under the stock center console for the 442.

Finally decided to relocate the ignition coil on my 87 El Camino away from the top of the intake manifold to the passenger side inner fender well. The wires for the ignition and power were straight forward and easy to tap and extend; so were the wires coming from the CD box inside the cabin. However, I'm wondering if there are any negative impacts to having a lengthy, 42" coil wire. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.

Was going to post this yesterday but never got around to it. Due to shipping of engines being pushed to a couple of months out. I decided on a SBC 305 purchase from Facebook. Stupid me I didn't get any photo's as we are still a little cold and snow out here. But my repair shop has the engine covered in a Tarp. This engine came out of an 1984 K5 Blazer 75K miles.

On May 3rd they are going to go ahead with the swap. And tackle are few other things at the same. After the other two disappointments in Facebook purchases this one looks promising. hopefully the engine wasn't thrashed too much, but I think it'll be okay, at least the car will be up running, just not with the power house of a 350 I wanted.

I am still going to continue saving for something with more performance in the mean time, I am also looking forward to finishing out the Body, Paint and Interior as the Summer progresses.
