Started assembling my TH400 for my beater...need some more selective washers to get the end play where it needs to be after a case swap....on hold until Monday.

Went for a road trip this afternoon with a buddy, he ended up scoring a 454 out of a Donzi power boat. Soon to be nestled in his G-body Malibu

Took the car on a junkyard run. Scored a brand new (basically, just dirty) Weber/Carter AFB and a Qjet off an Olds 455 for 50 bucks. Next yard I got a Cassette AM/FM radio for 23 bucks. Man I missed playing my Boston and Rush.

Come to think of it, is there any value in that Qjet I picked up? 17056252, only used on the 75-76 toronados if I'm not mistaken. Anything special about it?

that may be an 800 cfm, if you look down the primaries you'll see a hump if it's an 800

Got the rear disc brakes on and plumbed as long with the parking brake cables, installed the UMI rear sway bar as well. Sand blasted and painted the rear drive shaft and install new spicer U joints. Long day in the garage... just a couple things left to do!

Nothing much. Spent the bulk of the day working on a rather gaudy '73 Grandville. Had a 400 pontiac, edelbrock intake, M/T valve covers, headers, 2.5 dual exhaust, and a busted up *ss qjet that I now have. I'm beggining to think I'm becoming a hoarder. It also might be an 800cfm as well. It's lff an olds, 7045183. Changed the VC gaskets, installed a new edelbrock carb the guy bought, wired up the choke, set off the car alarm, and Wednesday gonna change the water pump. Made 45 bucks today, gonna get 30ish wednesday.

No wrench turning today, but I did order the rear disc brake kit today.
Which kit did you use? Your calipers sit higher than with the LS1 setup, and your shocks bolted right in to the stock location.

Swapped out the original 7.5" for a Monte SS 3.73 Posi. Anybody know what the stock V6 gear ratio would be in a 79 Malibu Coupe? Seemed snappier with the original rear??? 6.0L LQ4/4L80E combo now.

Looks like it was official rear disc brake day. My boys asked, 'Dad, we're bored. Can we go outside an help you work on a car?' OH HELL YES!

After an embarrassingly long delay, the wagon has a new 7.5 3.73 Auburn with LS1 rear brakes bolted in.

Later, they said, 'Dad, that was fun. It's too bad you don't get to do that more often.'
You don't say. I will definitely be leveraging that!

[Oh yeah, the Superbowl. Who's playing? Never mind - rhetorical question - don't care....]
