What did you do to your G-Body today? [2011-2018]

PontiacGP, I have a slightly used Kenwood KDC998 Excelon you can have for dirt. Great unit but I need to upgrade my Tacoma to double DIN because my eyes have gotten so worthless I cannot read the display. Not the unit's fault. Distance vision is perfect but lupus is slowly taking my short vision somehow? Bifocals don't help. And now, I'm approaching TMI alert . . . [sorry]

$200 unit. Like $75 shipped? Year old.

Let me know, otherwise I will do a proper posting in the for sale thread.

thanks for the offer but one thing I don't like is the display on the Kenwoods or the arrangement of the buttons on the faceplate. I thought it would grow on me but I dislike it more each day.

Never never never pay up front to a body shop, unless they are buying parts for it. A legit shop will be able to carry the costs involved, and the good ones will set up a payment agreement/schedule as work progresses.

PS, I currently work in and have previously managed body shops

That is what happened. I paid $1000 up front. Then the car was stripped. A few months down the line, paint was was purchased, the doors were body worked off of the car, etc... My total bill was 4500 (the first quote), then went up to 4800 after roof damage was discovered. I paid 3000 of it so far.

Any shop that wants or needs money up front is a scammer

Took my 1989 truck 350 short block apart tonight. Getting it ready to be machined to replace the original 305 in my 1986 Monte Carlo LS car since it cracked cylinder#8. Going 350 roller cam with CCC and 200-4R and 3.23 or 3.42 rear. Building a good reliable driver with air conditioning.

I won't lie... If I was going to build a '65 GTO I would use a '05 GTO drivetrain. If Pontiac put the starter on the right side where it belongs I might think differently.

My favorite GTO is a '71... that one I would build with a 455... but that's pretty much it. The rest would get motor swaps.
I'm one of the weirdos. I like the '73 and '74 GTOs. I have no beef with the starter location, but I hate the oil filter. Especially with headers. Bleh.

I like them both
They are growing on me. They look better from a distance I think. Drove the old girl to work today. Tonight I investigated my diverter door for my dash vents. Found it is working right but seal is worn out. I shoved some rags up there to get more air out of my dash vents.
